Also, on my recently refurbished 1985 Stumpjumper, I'm LOVING the Shimano DX pedals.  They did it right, way back then!

Beautiful. The spindle bulge in the middle of the pedal gives me pause though. Looks like a hotspot with flimsy shoes.

The few times I've had pedal strike, even with the RMX pedal, it's been on an outer corner of the pedal rather than the whole side.  These ones from VO have a curved outer profile that looks like an attempt to minimize that.  I guess the only way we'll know is if someone does a side by side photo.
