Bump!

I've had some interest, but no final takers on the BMC Monstercross Disc. So, I'm opening things up:

Complete bike (as listed below): $1400, OR
Frame, fork, headset, bb (square taper), wheels, brake calipers and rotors, and axles: $900

The frame, wheels and associated parts listed above were $1500 new from BMC. So if you've ever been curious about a steel disc-braked bike, this would be an economical way to try out a great one. All the disc-y bits are taken care of...just add the rest from your spare parts bin. I can also include other parts priced al la carte if you need them.

PM me with any questions...

Eric

Hi all-

This is the final bike to sell before my move to England. This is cross-listed with the iBob. I know it’s not a traditional Riv, but many on this list are hearty supporters of Mike and Black Mountain Cycles. The bikes are steel, the ride is excellent, the geometry allows the handlebars to get up fairly high (even with a treadless setup), the drivetrain is pretty Riv-ish, and other than my Rivs, this BMC is the only bike I’ve owned that didn’t feel twitchy with drop bars. As such, I hope nobody has any objection to me listing it here…

I would like to sell the entire bike for obvious reasons. But if there are no initial takers, I would be open to selling only the frame, wheels, and brakes (and parting out the rest). The bike is about six months old. I put in my deposit a month before I found out I would be moving overseas. I received it in January and have been riding it off and on since the beginning of the spring. Like all BMCs, it rides great, but a serious multi-surface bike like this won’t be as useful for the kind of riding I’ll be doing across the pond. For reference, my PBH is 90cm. I ride a 62cm SimpleOne and a 63cm Hilsen. It fits me very much like the 62cm SimpleOne, but due to the sloping top tube would be great for someone slightly shorter as well. The saddle height in the photos is 79.125 inches and the handlebars are about an inch-ish above saddle height (with room to go higher if desired). Condition is like new, not a scratch on it that I can see. The full geometry and technical details can be found here:

New BMC Monstercross Disc frames go for 700 and Mike’s standard builds go for 2700. I’m asking the following:

$1450: Complete with the following build (Note: pedals, saddle, bags, and bottles/cages not included):

Frame: 56cm Black Mountain Cycles MCD

Headset: Cane Creek 40

Wheelset: Shimano 105 Hubs to WTB KOM Tubeless compatible (hand-built by Mike at BMC)

Tires: Compass Steilacoom 38mm (Very Light Use)

Cassette: XT 9sp

Rear Derailleur: Deore 9sp

Chain: SRAM 10sp

Bottom Bracket: Shimano UN-55

Crankset: Sugino XD Low Double with Chainguard

Chainring: Wolftooth 40t

Front Derailleur: None

Brakes: Shimano R317 Mechanical Disc Calipers with Shimano 160mm Rotors

Brake Levers: Shimano Tiagra

Shifters: Shimano 9sp Dura Ace Barends

Stem: Dimension 60mm w/ Spacers

Handlebar: Salsa Cowbell 2 44cm

Tape: Black Newbaums

Seatpost: Kalloy Silver

All of the above parts were purchased new with the frame with the exception of the crankset and seatpost. The current setup is obviously 1x, but I can provide two options depending on your preference:

(1) Shimano bar-ends (both L and R included), Wolf-tooth ring w/ Sugino chainguard, and no front derailleur, or…

(2) Shimano bar-ends (both L and R included), Standard Sugino wide-low rings (40 and 26t) and chainguard, and Deore front derailleur (uninstalled)

Bike will be well-packed and shipped and insured via BikeFlights at buyer’s expense. (FYI: It’s not yet packed, so I’ll need a week together a box and get it done properly). Any questions, feel free to PM me. Thanks for looking!

Again, if you go the f/f/etc. route I can include various other parts priced a la carte.
