Bike theft - check the lockup structure

I actually noticed this in Winnipeg where I live. I rode my bike to a bank in a fairly upscale mall and noticed that one of the lockup rings was loose where it's bolted into the concrete. Other tricks; sawing through the metal tubing of the structure itself and using tape of some sort to hide it, etc.

Don't be in such a hurry that you don't check whatever you're locking your bike to.I know it's obvious but I just thought I'd pass this on

Thanks for the PSA and reminder, Ryan! 

I’ve been discovering this attempt at racks here in the Bay Area, too. This rack at Safeway has been loose/unsecured for over three years.

I see you've posted about this as well. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this is not a new phenomenon😒

A new thing in Oakland..bike jacking like car- jacking only with high end bikes.
No need to break the lock.
A sad state of affairs in this country.
