Thanks for sharing that; interesting read.

The link to the Marin Mountain Museum of Bicycling reminded me of one pioneer of “mountain” biking, or at least severe off-road riding who doesn’t get much press in the usual histories: Geoff Apps of Cleland Cycles who started modifying bicycles for off road use in the early1960s and evolved a design very different indeed from West Coast-originated mountain bikes; I think that the style of riding was called “mud bogging." The website is interesting reading.


One thing that Clelands have in common with Rivendells is the very upright riding position!

But could you do this on your Clem?
