Ultradynamico just released 700c versions of their tires and I'm thinking about ordering a pair for my 60cm Chev. Specifically I'm looking at the JFF Cava model, though I'm concerned by the "Zero sidewall protection and no puncture protection on top for premium ride quality" line in the description. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these tires as all-arounders. Most of my riding is in on paved streets in an urban environment with the occasional trail and gravel road.

Will they be disastrous/flat-prone on city streets? I saw in Grant's latest blog that Riv will be carrying them in the near future as they move to streamline their tire offerings, so I feel some confidence given Riv historically promoting practical/anti-flat tires. But who knows? Should I consider the Robusto, which are slightly more expensive but at least have some sidewall protection? Any thoughts more than welcome.

I have the Rosé in the 'race' casing which is the same as what you describe. They are fine, the sidewalls are supple and thin but not onion skin thin. I would say they are closer to Rene Herse standard than extralight. I wouldn't use them as a touring or commuting tire, probably, but for regular riding they're great.

Also the Rosé tires are worthy of their internet hype. The grip in dirt is surprisingly good, they shed mud, but they are also pretty quick on pavement and even corner predictably on pavement thanks to low profile, well spaced knobs. The Cava look pretty sweet for more road / hardpack conditions.

I think most riders consider the Ultradynamicos dirt centric tires. They may not be ideal for paved roads. The Rose works well on gravel but is a bit knobby on pavement. The knobs are spaced very far apart. I found the Cava a bit harder to like. The micro-knobs are very thin and tall and they squirm noticeably when riding on pavement. Unfortunately the 700C model is based on the Cava and not the better liked Rose. You can read my review of both tires at https://gravelanddirt.blogspot.com. Let us know what you ultimately decide and how you like your new tires!

I just ordered the Cava JFF in 700, and they're set to arrive on Thursday. I probably won't get around to mounting them right away but I'm happy to share my impressions.

I ended up ordering the 700c Cava Robusto's for more protection. They arrived yesterday and I'll probably mount them this week and report back.

Are these tires difficult to mount? I know this is largely determined by rim choice, but I'm always super worried about buying anything 'tubeless compatible'

I think I saw somewhere, on instagram maybe, they said 2 months (roughly from now) for the 26" offering ...which is also when the 700 version of the other tire model is released

Bin Chen - yes, I asked them about this a while back and they said there will be 26" options coming, but I think the timeline was something like end of this year.  Sounds like the 26" will be around 2.1"
