Will Silver shifters work with Velo Orange Thumb Shifter Mounts?

Hi all:

I am thinking of changing my Shimano shifters to the Silver 2 shifters.  My Shimano (which I believe are Dura-Ace work fine on the Velo Orange Thumb Shifter mounts.  I am curious if anyone has tried the Silver 2 shifters on them.

Hi Jay,

I have this very setup on my Atlantis. You'll need the flat washer thingies that Riv sells for the silver shifters as the little plastic rings used with Shimano shifters are too tall. I have them set up on Billie Bars in the "inboard" style, and can't imagine a more natural comfortable setup.

Hey Tom,

Nitto Billie Bars. Tektro FL city levers with tektro mini v brakes. Silver 1 shifters mounted to the VO adapters, and ergon grips.

Mentioning this in case anyone else is reading this thread. The holes on the Silver 2 shifters don’t quite line up with the cable guides in the Velo Orange mounts - the cables will go through but it puts a tiny kink in them. We had them on my son’s Platy initially for a very short time and it started to fray the cables. 

I have had success with Sunrace thumbies or bar ends mounted on the Velo Orange thumb mounts. As they come with road bar diameter shims I have them on my Cheviot mounted on some Albastache bars, just either side of the handlebar sleeve, on the underside of the bar
