Check this one out. I like it so much that I've blatantly stolen the "low toptube, but not quite a step-thru" idea for my own upcoming custom. It's so pretty!

That's pretty neat!  It looks like the TT intersects the ST & HT @ 90 degree angles.

Pretty close. Mark @ Riv mentioned that the head lug has to be modified to get 90°; to my eye the TT/ST joint isn't quite 90.

Beautiful frame with some serious bling. It makes sense to play with the top tube position both to get the handlebars higher relative to saddle and for more top tube clearance for those who feel that need. In extreme cases like the Clem L, it also allows easy mounting without swinging a leg up over the saddle.

Speaking of Clem Ls, one thing I liked about my ver.1 Clementine was the swoopy seat stays. IIRC, they came about, along with an extra big seat tube, due to something slightly unforeseen, and in subsequent versions the stays went straight. But Grant's new Clem L has the swoop. I know he likes the 700C Large, maybe it was always on the Ls? Or is the swoop back in all sizes?

Other than the fact that I can't really afford either one at the moment, I'm torn between trying to snag one of the Clem L framesets (I still have most of the parts from my first one) or going for a Suzie (which would require a wheelset with wider rims.)

Meant to add, I like it because they echo the main swoop dee doop. Not because of the obvious shock-absorbing and speed benefits.

Mark, I believe the reason for the bent seat stays is because of the seat lug, which is not custom for each size. Since the exit angle from the lug is the same across several sizes, it means some need a bent stay for the tube to connect from the seat cluster to the rear dropout (an oft-overlooked, but important, feature).

I may be remembering this second part incorrectly, but I also recall reading the bent nature of the stays does little/nothing for shock absorption. It's simply a workaround necessitated by the Clem being a "budget" bike.

That was true for the first run. Now most of them have a socket lug and straight stays, but the big one keeps the original with bent stays.

Wonder if it’s the same Erin who owns the Atlantis on the
previous Blug? If so, that’s a pair of gorgeous rides to have available.

I fell instantly in love with that bike when I saw it on the Blahg.  That's the kind of bike that could inspire me to go custom again.

I've become a fan of centerpull brakes too. They really STOP your bike. Look nice too.

Hey, Y'all:

Here's another take on this idea. I don't know why, but this just makes my head light & knees weak (ah, er, weaker!).

My oh my Jock. That’s almost too pretty to ride!

Is it my imagination or have I noticed an uptick in customs from Riv in the past 12 months or so? Yes, that would be you too Mr. Bernard!
