I was curious what tires folks are running on their Joe Appaloosa. I know the Compass Barlows are loved and was wondering what other tires folks were running. I was considering the 38mm Panaracer Pasela Protite. I don't really do gravel roads right now and was thinking that could speed up the bike over the stock Kenda tires.

I'm running 50mm Big Bens. Feels right to me. I had the 38mm Little Big Bens on for a minute but didn't feel quite as gelled.

I ride Barlows on my QB because they are the fattest I can fit. If I had an Appaloosa and I wasn't going to use it for much technical single track, I'd go with the fattest Compass tires I could get, which depends on wheel size.
With abandon,
Patrick

I ride Maxxis Torch, 700x53. They are fat and provide lots of squish at 120tpi. Could even work with B65 fenders. Have been proving themselves to be rather prone to flats, however. Little to no flat protection if something works its way between the treads.
