I'd say Ed Litton is the go to guy in the East Bay for steel frame repair.

Great guy, experienced frame builder who learned from Albert Eisentraut, and focuses mostly on repair and restoration now.

hi. was attempting to adjust my downtube cable stop because it wasn't lined up with the cable. didn't feel like I was using too much pressure but obviously was because the shifter boss snapped off. I'd like to get this fixed on the quick as I'm gearing up for a paint job. I guess it is better now than after. any Bay Area (east bay) recommendations? I'm assuming this is something that I wouldn't bring the bike to walnut creek for. thanks for your input!

ps. was riding around crater lake OR with my new to me bomba this weekend with a friend on his mb-2. I'll post a pic when I'm on my computer. mobile google groups doesn't seem to allow posting images.

Thanks! I have an email into Ed Litton. FYI, I asked Riv too: "Give Steve Rex a call.  He's local (Sacramento), reasonable, and unbelievably fast.  We use him for our repairs." http://www.rexcycles.com/"
