I've been thinking a Homer might be the thing for me for a little while now.

And a ride this week confirmed, at least in my head, at least in theory, that this is something I would like to pursue with more gusto.

So, I'm starting my search for an older one in very low-key manor. Because I promised no new bikes in 2025.

In my head, it doesn't count if I don't BUILD it until 2026!

I think I could probably make either a 59 or a 62 work, but the former might be slightly better.

I only want the classic Homer blue. Unless you happen to have one you managed to snag in an interesting or custom color, or maybe you repainted it black and cream?

Black and cream is the best combo for a Rivendell. I won't be talked out of that.

Anyway, frame and fork is all I'm after. Happy to consider all manor of scratches and dings, as long as there are no dents, no concerns, and the price is nice.

I am curious. As someone who has owned both an older Homer and MIT Homer, I was wondering why you wanted to buy the older Homer. I had a similar quest, and my experience was different than my prior expectations.

I agree - "Black and cream is the best combo for a Rivendell" - with lugs of course.
