Hi all -- I have recently acquired a NOS SR-Sakae Ringyo MTE-100 seatpost. It was just fine for several hundred miles and now it won't hold tension. Stock photo below.

If I set the saddle to have the nose pitched up just a touch it pitches all the way up once I hit the first bump. This is driving me bananas. And not the good kind of bananas (i.e. chocolate-covered and frozen).

Yes, the bolt is greased a'plenty.

Tomorrow I can post some pictures of the assembly broken down for the curious.

Does anyone have any ideas as to a remedy? Peace and thanks.

And/or replace the knurled nut with a washer and a nylock nut.
