Hello, Purchased two Rosco Bubbe framesets a little over a year ago and built up one into a great allroad bicycle and was thinking the other would be a replacement frame years down the road. I really don't think I'm going to wear this one out so the other is up for sale. I paid full price before Rivendell discounted them and never could understand why this version was the last to sell out. Fits Bruce Gordon Rock n Road tires or slightly larger. I look at this frame as a poor man's Hunquapiller.  Only 11 were made and a super cool frame especially since it has that retro Mert Lawill Pro Cruiser/ Kona Humma.... look. Mtn./road/touring/commuting.  New in the original shipping box and never opened!  Frame/fork/headset/seat post  $1000/shipped  Thanks, Paul

seat tube-  56cm c-t, 52cm c-c
top tube- 60cm effective, 58cm actual
chainstays- horizontal 48-49cm
headtube- 19cm
stand over- 80cm w/fat cyclocross 35c tires

The original Rivendell listing said the frame was for 84-88.5 PBH  My PBH is 89 and fits me well

I've done some spelunking on the internet but haven't found anything with the original build details on this version of the Rosco Bubbe frame. Would you, or another member, be able to direct me to details that go beyond those noted? Maybe maximum wheel/tire size and such?

Leroy,

Pretty sure the attached geometry diagram is the correct one.  Why do I have this, you ask?   I agree with Paul that it was the nicest looking one, and also the one that fit me.  I'm probably going to regret letting one slip through my fingers some day but, for me, it came down to the usual lack of money, the fact that I already own two green rivendells, and the limited tire clearance.  I personally just can't justify owning any more bikes without really fat tires.    This frame was built around a 700c surplus Quickbeam fork if I'm not mistaken, so that should tell you what you need to know about clearance.  They officially referred to it as the "Rosco Road 55.5" in case that helps track down more info.

Great looking bike, Paul!  You're killing me.

Hey Paul, what's the rear spacing?

Hi, This frame fits a true 700x43c tire with a 135mm rear spacing. Rivendell did promote it as a road oriented frame mainly by the top tube length. Yes with Choco-Moose bars or pronounced swept-back bars the top tube length may not work for you.

Product Details

Rosco Bubbe ROAD-FATTY 55.5cm

SIZE: 55.5cm*
It's a "road" because it's easily drop-bar compatible--the top tube is shorter than we'd do if you were going to put a BOSCO or CHOCO on it. Albatross, OK. But if you have never had a drop bar bike and you're curious, or if you shun all non-drop bar bikes, this is a great way to spoil yourself, because it rides as well as any drop bar bike can ride. It's totally delightful, serious.

*Please note the 55.5cm Rosco Bubbe Road geo differs in many ways from the the Waterford 55.5 Rosco Bubbe*

BEST
PBH range: 84-87.5cm
SADDLE HEIGHT RANGE: 73 - 76.5cm
MINIMAL TIRE: 700x28, but holy smokes—bring it up to a 700x33 Jack Brown (or even 700x40 as seen in photos) and max out at 700x42.
STANDOVER NOTE: The 83 cm shown with 700x39 (Conti SpeedRides, say 700x42, measure between 700x38-41 depending on the rim).
