I have a used pair of Phil Wood platform pedals from the late 1970's. They are not perfect. Both of them have beausage cracks in them from being scraped against asphalt pavement in cornering around turns in the roads that I cycled.
Despite the flaws, the pedals still function very well. The bearings are very smooth.
