Good evening all,

I am a volunteer at my local co-op Rag and Bones in Richmond, VA. We have had parts  sitting in bins for months--maybe even years--waiting to find good homes. With the help of another volunteer, we have begun the arduous task of listing items on the internet (mostly fleabay and FB Marketplace). I will be adding and updating to this list over the next few weeks/months. There's a lot.......

I have done cursory research on most of these items. Please let me know if anything is priced too high. We aim to be fair, but please keep in mind, your business helps us keep our lights on so that we may continue helping our surrounding community.

Lastly, we kindly ask buyers to cover shipping.

Link to photos below:

Shimano Ultegra R8000 Hydraulic Groupset - $350. Comes with everything pictured. Crankset is 172.5mm. Missing bottom bracket, rotors, and cassette.

Brooks C13 Saddle - $40. Donation from a fellow co-op member. Well-loved. Measures 130mm at the widest point.

Campagnolo CX11 Power Torque Carbon Crankset (172.5mm). $125. New without box. No chainrings or bottom bracket. Allegedly MSRP was $600 when these were first released??

Campagnolo Record Front Derailleur - $40. I forgot to get the clamp diameter but can provide that if requested.

Campagnolo Strada Crankset (170mm) - $50. Threads are good. Just needs a good cleaning.

Ideale 90 Leather Saddle - $125. Leather appears in good condition but has scuffing. Steel rails.

MKS GR-10 Pedals - $25. New in box!

Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 175mm Crankset - $80. Has some wear. Nothing major. No bottom bracket.

Simplex Prestige Rear Derailleur - $30. New in plastic wrapping.

As a final measure, below is a link to the master google sheet. It shows what is and isn't available. I am trying my best to keep everything updated across several platforms.

Thank you for your consideration and please send any questions my way,
James

Please note that for sale items shared to this group should be specifically RBW related or adjacent. Admittedly, that's a fairly loose description. But there a lot of very non-RBW For Sale attempts that never make it past the moderation queue.

Granted, there are a few items in your offerings that fall under that fairly broad umbrella. But a number that pretty clearly don't. I'd ask that for any future posts you curate your listings here to be a bit more group-focused.

Also - rather than using individual google folders for separate photos on each item, you might consider creating a google photo album which is much easier to both view and edit.

Thanks!

Hi James,

I'd like to get the Brooks Cambian saddle, as long as the rails are in good condition and there's no cracks in it. My ZIP Code is 98277 to calculate shipping. Please let me know what the total is and where to send payment. Thanks!

~Mark

PS – – sorry this is to the whole group; I can't seem to find James' personal email address.

Jim, my sincerest apologies. I try to ensure that any item listed would be Riv/Riv adjacent. I will send you a PM so my posts can be more focused in the future.

Mark - Sure thing. I will shoot you a PM.

No worries James - thanks for the direct message. From the outset, this group has been defined more narrowly than many of the online groups. Since it's a living organism, there will be an evolution of that over time.

For Sale listings have always been problematic. We run the risk of being kind of a value-added Craigslist. But this group allows folks who are looking for that tweed bag that hasn't been made for a decade to find one. And that seems to be in service of those of us who spend time here and have created a community.

Just wanted to share my response publicly:
No worries. I always try to support the efforts of community bike co-ops. Which is why I didn't remove this.

I don't want to get into the minutiae of "OK/Not OK". This group has always been self-regulated. I know you are acquainted with Rivendell stuff and attitudes toward steel over carbon, usefulness over "systems integration."

I was responding more to the statement that you had put the same list out to several groups. The focus of the RBW group has alway been narrower, so I suggest that if you would not see the item selling on the RBW site, it probably should not be in the listing. You are welcome to provide a link that would send folks to more general listings on the co-op site (though it wasn't clear if the co-op had one).

Hope that helps a bit.

I appreciate the response, Jim.
I will do my best to make sure future items are relevant.
Our co-op does have a website (ragandbonesrva.org) but we do not have parts for sale on there. As I mentioned, we have just broken into the realm of eBay. Luckily, as a non-profit, eBay does not take as much in fees. I also post items on marketplace from my personal Facebook. Admittedly, keeping up with all this is a lot—basically a part-time job!

James
