a light bracket

For your inspection: a light bracket. Please note the total and utter lack of design. Applaud it as minimalist (not true), tolerate it as amateur-ish (true), or despise it as laziness (oh, so very, very true).

 

I cut a 5"-ish section off a long 1/4" x 1" aluminum bar and drilled two holes, one for an M5 bolt, one for an M6 bolt.

 

It helps to start with an actual light bracket, in this case a Gino's mount. All I did (and all I actually wanted to do) was displace the light so that I could get a better beam (less wheel/rack shadow) and could still leave it in place for any of my configurations: tubus-Tara-with-panniers or Nitto-Mini-with-or-without-PlatRack.

Hey, I think I read a reference of yours to that bracket elsewhere on the list. I happen to have a well worn chainring around. I may give that a shot. It looks both cool and dangerous. Which is kind of like RBW's new web-site/database being full of "promise and fear".
