I love my (old model) MUSA Shorts in many respects. But there are some fit issues/features that could still be a little better, and it also seems the (new model) shorts have been out of stock for quite a while. My wonderfully skilled SO has offered to sew me a pair. One thing I really like about the shorts is the fabric: Nice texture, much more durable than any other materials I've tried, quick-dry, ... Does anybody know where I could buy this kind of fabric? Riv describe it as "quick dry textured nylon," but searching for that on various fabric websites doesn't really yield anything promising.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Supplex nylon , sometimes referred to taslan nylon, those are the fabrics you're looking for Harald. They come in 2, and 4-ply with the higher the ply the stronger and more durable. Which one to choose ?  You got me !  Every manufacturer has their secret sources and specs you know and thus all are not created alike. The online fabric suppliers may be able help you more than I in that regard.

Do a search for :  " supplex nylon by the yard "  and you'll see a host of outdoor fabric suppliers.

Thanks, Garth. That's very helpful. I'll just order some swatches of different supplex/taslan and see what looks/feels right. Will report back.
 Harald.
