Long shot appeal: my partner and I drove to Portland to visit family and camp near Mt Hood. Sadly, the 42cm (RH Babyshoe Pass) front tire on my partner’s Cheviut rubbed/melted on the car rack on the way up from the Bay Area. We only have a couple days in Portland.

If you’re in Portland and have a used (or new) single or pair of 650b Babyshoe Pass tires (ideally, tan sidewalls) you’re willing to sell, I’d love to hear from you. Open to other 42cm 650b tires too.

Thanks!
Sean

Sean, I don't have any Babyshoes, but I do have a pair of lightly used Fatty Rumpkins that I took in trade at Rivelo last year.

They're hanging in my garage here in Portland. No warranty/no promises, but they look good and you can HAVE them for FREE if you want them.

Reply to jabi...@gmail.com or jo...@rivbike.com if you want them.

What a characteristically heart-warming exchange.

I watched Russ Path Less Pedaled Portland bike shop tour yesterday and a couple shops seemed to carry Rene Herse tires. You could try Norther Cycles they had a wall of ReneHerse/compass tires (11:32 in video)

Riv content: he visits Rivelo in part 2.

Sadly, Norther Cycles closed last December.

That is sad, looked like a cool shop, sad about Rivelo too. A cycling
renaissance seems to be one of the few bright spots during the
pandemic, but while I'm am stuck local I've been watching a bunch of
cycling destination videos dreaming of traveling again one day.

A belated (!) thanks-again to John for keepin’ Tasha and I truckin’ after our Mini’s tail pipe melted Tasha’s Cheviut front tube and tire. Equipped with John’s Fatty Rumpkins, we went on to Mount Hood and Sisters, OR and smokey Crater Lake.

Back now doing joyfully mundane bike things in the Bay Area: grocery shopping, picnicing and traversing the East Bay Hills.
