FT: SR Sakae CTP-400

Rivendell Owner Bunch List Members,

In an effort to fine tune my bike I offer some used SR Sakae CTP-400 pedals for trade. They are track style pedal. If I remember correctly, these came standard on some Bridgestone models. They have a silver body with black cages. Pretty sure I got them with a bike I purchased a while ago. Looking for a platform pedal in exchange. Will entertain other items. Let me know what you have.

RBW List Members,

I have been eyeing the Velo Orange Sabot Pedal for a while. Looking at it to replace the SR CTP-400 pedals I posted about a few days ago. Looking at mounting some half clips on them for use. Anyone using this pedal with or without clips? What are your thoughts? Any alternatives you can think of?

The pedals I am currently using.

Suntour XC-Pro Grease Guard on most bikes.
Rivendell Grip King/MKS Lambda on Bontrager Race single speed.
SR MTP-129 on Bridgestone XO-1.
VP-196 with Zefal Half Clips on a couple bikes.
VP-707 with a VP-747 cage mounted around it on Bridgestone MB-1 retro ride.

I considered the Sabots for the Dahon fixie I used to own, and upon inquiry, VO assured me that you can, indeed, install clips on these pedals. In the event, I chose the much cheaper, and weirdly named, MKS Esprit pedals*, but (a) to my eyes the Sabots looked very nice for clip 'n' strap use and, (b), clips do work with them.

For what that's worth!

*Like all cheap MKS pedals, the bearings are tight and dry. Upend, dribble thickish oil into the shaft -- let sit sufficiently, install, and ride the basterds smooth!
