Hello!

Several months back I built up a Cheviot for my wife (much thanks to this forum for helping me find the frame and some other bits)! I think it came out pretty nice (photo below is before I put the FD on, FWIW).

With Christmas coming up, she'd like a bag or something to practically carry things on the front of the bike. I am partial to the Nitto rack + ziptied Wald on my bikes but she's hoping for something a bit more fashionable  that will go with her bike's look/style so coming back here for some suggestions. Thanks for any help.

My wife really likes the basket I put on the front of her bike. Nantucket Bike Baskets:  https://www.nantucketbikebaskets.com/collections/adult
I put it on a Velo Orange front rack.
cheers,
Andrew
(Painstakingly pecked out on my iPhone; please pardon my brevity and tpyos.)

For practicality you can't beat a bag with a rando style closure.  I love the bags x bird tail grab classic edition.  I also have an outer shell
137 basket bag attached to a jack the bike rack.  Honorable mention goes to analog's fifth season line of bag's squall sack.

Check out Oveja Negra bags - a woman owned business in Salida, CO that does excellent work. I have two of their bags in regular use and would happily purchase another. The link is to their colorful "Wack Pac" handlebar bags, but they have a full product line that you may want to look at.

A Giles Berthoud would look hella sweet on that belle bicyclette bleue.

As would many others, of course.

I mean, as long as we're spending your money...

Another option would be Po Campo bags. They have several options for front bags, and feature several colorful patterns. Their stuff goes on sale periodically.

Looking at your photo of the bike, any bag of any size is going to interfere with the brake/gear cables.

What about a smallish, easy access bag like the Ron’s “Clap Trap”, a Ron’s “Fab’s Abs”, or a Bags by Bird “Tail Grab”?

Those all seem small enough to not be too hindered by the cable housing.

How much does she want to carry and would she prefer a basket or a bag?  The Nantucket baskets are classic, if she likes that look and would match her grips and saddle beautifully. . I’d like the wire basket for me (thanks, Andrew) if I think I have enough loose cable space.

The cables on my Betty Foy are short like these so I have burrito type bags. Some are bigger than others if she wants to carry more, you can get her a second one as a seat bag.

I have three Po Campo rear bags.  I don’t think the front ones are very big though but I do vouch for the quality.

I’ve been looking at the Roadrunner Jammer bags for a while to replace my burrito bag on my Betty Foy. They come into come in two sizes, this one being the smaller one, but is quite large:   https://roadrunnerbags.us/products/the-jammer-bag?variant=37202030030.  Here is their largest burrito bag:  https://roadrunnerbags.us/collections/handlebar-bags/products/west-coast-burrito-handlebar-bag?variant=43823725543678 if she doesn’t want a big bag, but bigger than many burrito ones.

Nittany mountain works has reasonably priced and some customizable bags so you can get to match her Betty Foy.  I have many of their Manythings bags, all customized to match each bike and have been thinking of getting another for my Betty Foy (blue body, red band, different blue top or red body, blue band…) In that bag, I carry sometimes my wallet, keys, phone, bike pump and sometimes a water bottle.  https://organicclimbing.com/collections/bike-bags

Congratulations to her.  Looks like a lovely bike.

The Clap Trap would be better in terms of clearing the cables vs the fanny pack b/c it's smaller and opens/closes from the rear.  The Fanny is too big to clear the cables and even if they do clear the corners get caught and it's a pain to open/close.  Looking at her bike, to "practically carry", I think I'd get her a rear Sackville BagBoy SaddleSack and a Nitto support.  She won't run out of room and the handling will be better if she does stuff it full - which she'll eventually do b/c that bike will be a dream to ride.  If she wants to carry a small purse on the handlebars, I can make her a purse strap.  I'd post a picture but don't know how.  It says it's too big.
