Nice brake bits: Shovel Research

Just pulled this out of the box from Shovel Research and had to share - I love the care and level of detail Sal has put into designing, making and even packing & shipping each of the parts.

I won't have time to install them anytime soon, but I love my Rod Steward and I imagine these will perform and look similarly.

The Shovel Research stuff is incredibly well made and designed. It should be noted however, the light mount clamp itself is made to clamp onto the 3/8” struts of the Rod Steward bag support only. It won’t work with the 7mm dia. Nitto struts or other 8mm struts from other rack manufacturers.

thanks for posting this warning, would be good for shovel research to add a note on their site to because i feel like there is a pretty big overlap of Nitto users that would be interested in this for this exact use case!

They mentioned on their Instagram recently that they’re working on a 7mm version to fit Nitto struts.

Thank you for the info. This brake cable hanger looks nice! I have a Kona one on my Rivendell Mountain from when I initially built it. Bought several. This set up worked better than the Syncros Hang Doggie that I initially planned to use on that build. The Softride suspension stem set up would have made things a little tight. Thinking of doing this for an upgrade.
