RBW List Members,
Just got back from trip out to Northern California a few days ago. Was able to hit up Black Mountain Cycles that Tuesday when I got in late afternoon before he closed. Had a nice talk with Mike that owns it. Had a 10am appointment at Rivendell Bicycle Works the next day. Ended up riding several bikes.
First was the YelloWooley, they the Platypus then the Clem Smith Jr and last a Susie W. Longbolts/Wolbis Slugstone . All road really well. The Silver 2 shifters mounted on the inside worked really well. They were all comfortable. It was nice to see and experience all the folks at Rivendell that a lot of people only get to see and read of on the website or possible conversations on the phone. All the rides were parking lot spins with the Clem Smith Jr. the one I got to get extensive time on. That was with Grant up to Shell Ridge (?) and back.
I went to the Marin Bicycle Museum and Mountain Bike Hall of Fame the day after. Was really nice to check that place out and chat with a couple of the workers up there. I stopped back at Rivendell on the way back and got to meet Ron of Ron's Bikes along with his partner Tenzin. A bit of a surreal experience to not only meet and ride with Grant, but to see and chat with Ron also. I test road his Atlantis while there.
Anyway, It was a nice birthday get away. Maybe will do longer and bring a bike out. Thanks to all for the replies on this.
