Looking for a pair of Paul Components Racers (not Racer Ms) for my Homer.

Also does anyone know how tire clearance compares to the Tektro R559s? I'm currently running Rene Herse 48mm Oracle Ridge knobbies and the Tektros clear them. Anyone have any data here?

I’ve run them on 42 RH’s before, which I believe may be the recommended maximum width?

You might struggle with a 48, but I could be wrong…

I’m sure others can confirm/deny.

Sooo not the ones made for frame braze-ons then. There's a photo of the center bolt ones on a Bleriot on the photo for this product with fenders and fairly hefty  knobby tires which might give you a clue...but others might know more. I'm sure you could contact Paul components by phone or email and they would be happy to help. Especially if you buy from them :)

If they clear the Tektros, I'm fairly sure they'll  clear the Pauls.  Pauls have mre vertical clearance / Tektros have maybe a bit more side-to-side clearance.

Don't know if these pics help.  Pauls with a 42mm tire; Tektros with 38mm tire.  Same fender on both.  650b on both.  (Tektro bike converted from 700c)

Ryan mentioned the Bleriot photo on Paul's site, and here is another photo from that same build. Those are Ultra Dynamico Rose 650b 48mm on Velocity Quills.

I'm currently in the early stages of a build and the brakes aren't set up yet, but I threw on a 48mm Rossman tire gauge in case it helps you visualize clearances. I'll dig around some boxes tomorrow and try to find a Tektro R559 to put on there for another photo.

Danny's photo of the gauge probably shows you what you need to know, but here's one more tire clearance data point for you in case it's helpful. 650b 48 Gravelking SK on Velocity Atlas rims on my 51 Homer:

Sorry I don't have a photo with a more more straight-on view. I have different tires on there now but there was a lot of room (but it sure took a lot of deflating to fit the tire past the pads when taking the wheel in/out, even with the straddle cable released). I don't have a Tektro brake to compare with though.

This is great info, everyone. Thanks a ton. Also, I just scored a new polished rear Racer on eBay today. Just need a front one to complete the set.
