Original RivSister 55 cm Mermaid Platypus for sale. I checked with my RivSisters and they said it was OK, since I also have a Betty Foy and an A. Homer Hilsen. 😊
I’m the original owner of this first generation Platy with the sexy swoopy top tube/seat tube attachment, speced and built in May 2020 by the awesome James and Candice at Analog Cycles in Vermont. It was meant to be a replacement for a more rugged Joe Appaloosa, which I sold to get this bike for both road and trails, but I don’t do much non-road riding, so I’m letting this go to someone who would ride and appreciate it. It rides just as well on paved roads, too, but I have bikes for just that; I don’t need this beautiful redundancy.
Since I have other bikes, this one got partial use, and I’d estimate 1-2000 miles, no more than that and probably closer to the lower end. Most miles have been road miles and this bike is great for that. I’ve taken it on the D&L Canal towpath (Washington Crossing State Park in PA/NJ) a couple of times, which is packed dirt with pea gravel. It rode beautifully. Not ridden in rain or snow, but it got wet during car transportation, and there is some springtime riding salt spray on the rear cassette which does not interfere with its use, that I wasn’t able to clean completely. The chain is starting to show signs of rust, but the bike shop cleaned it, lubed it, measured it this fall and told me it would be fine for awhile. Always kept inside, in my living room. It’s in great condition.
Well maintained by the mechanics at Keystone Bike and me. Orange Seal Endurance added to tires in January and checked over at that time. No known dings or chipped paint except tor the screw holes on the fork crown— 90% is painted; please see pictures. An additional new-in-box 1x11 Garbaruk rear cassette (retail $280) is included. Unlike other “it’s ready to ride” claims, this bike really is; I take care of my possessions.
I’m in Philadelphia and I’m willing to meet a serious buyer up to an hour-ish away. Once you take her for a spin, you’ll want to ride her home. I’m also willing to have it packed and shipped at buyers expense. Or, pick it up at the Philadelphia Bike Expo in March, if still available.
Since I don’t have the skills to disassemble, I’d rather sell this bike fully built.
$3,500. Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal Friends and Family.
