New (to me) Hillborne w/photo

Lurked here for quite awhile now without actually owning a Rivendell, but a week or so ago I picked up an orange Sam Hillborne frame and fork courtesy Ray Shine (thanks!).  Built it up in typical Riv fashion:  Sugino XD2 triple, 8-speed 11-32, Synergy rims, Noodle bars (cork tape shellacked and twined), Silver friction shifters, and Tektro 559 brakes.  Still got to get racks and fenders.

Rides nice, sportier than I imagined.

Nice! Sure looks better parked in garage and ready to go than boxed up in a dark corner of mine!  Good work! enjoy!

That is a beauty, always loved the orange Sams and I am not a fan of the double TT so the single has that classic look.  I was fortunate enough to visit Rivendell while in SF on business a while ago and test rode a Sam, when I got back I told Grant "  Why do you tell people this thing is heavy! its light and sporty man";  Definitely a smile inducing ride.
