Hello all,

ISO some stock Clem Kenda Kwick 9 takeoffs?  These tires have been much reviled on this group, but I appreciated them because they seemed like the eternal tires, and if I really wanted to ride something that rolled nice, I'd just take my Road Standard shod with Compass/Rene Herse tires.

I live in a new home construction area with a lot of gravel and mud, not to mention nails lying around.  I've never gotten a flat from just riding normally, one time I did get a pinch flat from trying to jump onto a raised sidewalk from the side that had an extremely sharp edge.  But that's it, other than that these tires have soldiered on through everything including the broken glass that's left over from the recycle bins getting picked up on my street.

But now finally after 8 years the rubber is starting to peel off the sidewall of my back tire, so, I think it's finally time.   It turns out they are only the "almost eternal" tires.  Being that these tires have been so much reviled on this group, was just wondering if anyone had some takeoffs that were just sitting around doing nothing that they wanted to get rid of cheap.

Let me know, will pay shipping, or pickup possible in Central Texas.

If there are none of these that anyone wants to part with out there, I will also accept any recommendations for something else cheap to replace this tire with.

If I sound cheap, well, it's because my life situation has changed from the days I used to buy and sell bikes and bike parts all the time.  Family man now with a stay at home wife.  Thankful that I bought into the Rivendell ethos back in the day when I had more disposable income and now I have tough bike frames and parts that last a long time under tough usage.  Listening to Grant paid off in the long run.

Oof… I had just donated my gently used 700c set a couple weeks back during a much needed parts purge/decluttering after finally coming to terms with the fact I’d unlikely use them again anytime soon.  I moved to knobby tires a few years back to better handle mixed local terrain.

It didn’t even occur to me to offer them up here first with their negative reputation so apologies for the missed opportunity to pass them along for shipping.  I’m certain they’ll end up on a rebuild to eventually be sold at the local bike exchange but would have been happy to keep them within the Clem community!

I have some Panaracer Ribmos that are equally eternal ( I'd argue), that I'd be happy to move along for little $$.  700x35.  They are not supple.  They are pretty bombproof - I have probably put 500 miles on them and still many to go.

I like the Surly Extraterrestrials, I have the 26 inch 46mm on my 2016 Appa, they come in bigger sizes too. I have had them on the bike a few years, they are not showing any visible wear, and only the longest of thorns managed to give me a flat. They ride much nicer than the 1.75” Kendas that came stock to me on that bike
