Recommendation of a rear USB light or reflector that I can attach to the back of my Nitto R14 rear rack to cover those holes?

I'm looking at the Hotrod 50 USB light they have on the Riv site but I'm not sure if it alone will connect to the rear of my R14 rear rack.

I've got my old light clipped to my bag but would like to put either a light or a reflector on the back of the rack that totally covers the holes (see pic of the back of the rack below).

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Dan

That light is terrific, and mounts almost anywhere. I've mounted it on the rear of a Pletscher rack and a Nitto Rear Rack.  I can't remember what the back piece of the R-14 looks like, but I bet it will accommodate that light.

I have the HotRod. It will fit that rack by wrapping the bungee mount through the slit above the holes, but it's too small to cover the holes. You need something like this (out of stock, but I'm sure The Google will find one for you).

Dan:

I've got the same R-14 as pictured and the B & M taillight that Rivendell sells.  It bolts right on & covers the holes.  Being European, it is only on / off, no flashing setting, but plenty bright enough IMO.  This set-up finishes off the back of the bike nicely.

Hi Daniel,
I am also using Joe's recommended light Busch & Muller's "TopLight Line permanent".
Its a very nice light and only uses 1 pc of AA battery where I used an Eneloop battery with good results.

Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up finding that "Busch & Muller Toplight Line senso Bike Cycling Tail / Rear Red Light" on eBay and ordered it from there. If they would have had it in stock at Riv I would have purchased it from them.

Cygo for sure makes a mount for the Hot Shot that works perfectly

The Cygolite Hotshot has a rack mount that is available. I use it to mount the taillight to my Nitto rack - it's an older model R14 rack that has a narrower mounting plate at the rear.

Yes, that would work, but the OP asked about the HotRod.

Dan

Most lights come with an adapter plastic plate which mounts to the rack and the light mounts to the plate.   I had a new R14 (since sold) and the adapter plate worked great.

Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up ordering that plate for the hotshot light as well as I own that light and want to try that out as well to compare.

Daniel, one more vote for that B&M light. It's on my R-14 rack as well.

Best,
Richard
