I’m looking at purchasing a Ram for $2k that I saw posted on the Radavist site. It’s a custom Ram. Question, can you get fenders and a RH canti rack on that bike?

The Ram is a caliper brake frame, so a canti rack won’t fit. Fenders will fit if your tire is small enough. I’d guess that’s 28-32mm, but no first hand experience.

Correct and I would err on the side of 28 mm tires. Ram is a road bike with what seemed like big clearances in 2001, in reality there's not a ton of room under mid-reach sidepulls for fenders. Centerpulls would help here.

My first generation orange Ram fit Pasela 700x37's. The rear brake bridge was known to be built a little higher so pads were at the bottom of mid reach dual pivots. i had to use a Tektro 559 brake caliper in front to handle the 37's.

There seems to be a variation among these "first generation orange" Rams from what I've read on this "group."  I have one of those and I'm using 32mm Pasela's along with SKS fenders and those are just about the maximum fit for that frame with the Shimano SP brakes I've installed.  Others have suggested that variations of this same frame have a brake bridge mounted mounted a bit higher to allow for larger tires, brakes, and fenders.  Not sure about that.  Another thing I've noticed is that the the brazed-on rack mounts on the seat stays are too low to allow for a rack that doesn't interfere with the rear brake on smaller frames. I've managed to make it all work for me after tweaking things quite a bit, but YMMV.

32s with SKS fenders were the max that my blue Ram would take, using brake calipers that did not crowd the fenders (I forget, but I think I used single pivots).

Fenders for sure!  See p. 2 of the 2004 flyer: http://www.cyclofiend.com/rbw/rambouillet/rambflyer/index.html

And +1 for the 2004 production run of blue Rams maxing out at ~32mm with fenders.   I ran 700x28 with 35mm SKS fenders and never had drama -- seemed like a very natural setup for that bike.

Rack: This Ram on Rad Bazaar doesn’t have the mid-fork rack braze-ons that some of the Rams had. Many of us ran Mark’s Rack (Nitto M1) anyway, using P-clamps on the fork blades for the rack stays. Mark’s Rack mounts fairly easily at the front caliper brake bolt (RH racks generally don’t).

BTW, I had the same Ultegra group on my Ram -- I loved the feel of those brakes.

FWIW, I have 33 Jack Browns and fenders on my blue ram, using those Tektro R539 brakes that Rivendell instigated/designed.  Clearance might be tight for some people, but I have thousands of miles with no issues or worries.

I am one of those people who worries about clearance. I've fendered a Rambouillet and Romulus with big tires and ran clearances I wouldn't accept today. So take my initiatial recommendation to lean towards 28s with that grain of salt, I wouldn't even fender a caliper-brake bike now, there's so many other bikes that are built for them.

FYI. There's nothing 'custom' about that Ram setup. It appears to be all the stock parts other than new handlebar tape. Don't get me wrong...it's a fantastic setup hand-picked by Grant back in the day. I have a blue one in 62...though I swapped out the original pedals and saddle.

Yes to fenders, no to a canti rack. As others have clarified, it's a center-mount caliper brake frame and fork.

I've run RH (nee Compass) Stampede Pass EL 700x32 tires since they were first made, Paul Racer brakes, and Honjo fenders without trouble or effort for almost fifteen years now.

I had an (early) creamsicle Ram (that I miss very much) and worked very hard to get a set of 33 Jack Browns tucked into a stainless set of VO 45mm fenders. It took a while, required some trimmimg but was ultimately very servicable.  Occasionally would clog with road debris but servicable and pretty.  For a front rack I took two stainless 1.5" x .25" flat bar slugs and screwed into the two fork braize-ons behind the front axle to cross forward of the axle to catch the bottom of a long front rack to support a rando bag and gen hub/light. A little home brew but worked very well
