The fastest color out there and honestly the most beautiful paint that I've seen on a Riv. The orange sparkle in the sun is out of this world, actually typing this makes me question selling it!

I bought this off ebay and it shows it's age. It came with a Rivelo sticker that's still on it and I built it up with high end components - see below. Please note, there are a few scratches on the seat stays and chain stays, small chips and some paint loss in the top tube junction with the head tube. (I'll add photos with details soon).

In terms of sizing please refer to this brochure (I'll include an original full color printed original brochure just like this with the sale). To summarize, it has a 58 top tube and fits someone 5'9"-6'1" with a pbh between 87- 89cm. This bike fits me perfectly with drop bars and it's really light, probably around 25lbs.

The details:
Model: Rambouillet
Price $1,900 (Paypal F&F + shipping)

Size 60
- 700c Mavic Open Pro wheels, electra hubs with ceramic bearings (old, very light, need truing and I think at least one spoke is a bit bent).
- Rene Herse Bon Jon Pass 700x35 (almost new)
- 46 Nitto Noodles with shimano TRP levers
- Nitto shorty stem
- Ultegra headset
- Paul Racer M brakes
- White industries 46x30 cranks with new-ish IRD Bottom Bracket
- 11-32 XT M760 cassette 9 speed
- RD Shimano Deerhead
- FD Campagnolo
- Nitto seatpost (scratched)

*Saddle, pedals, cages,  not included

Message me directly if you have questions or if you're local-ish and want a test ride.

Max in Boston

A couple of teaser photos I had from when I built it:

*I have all the parts for a 650b conversion (wheels and MAFAC raid brakes) , so if it doesn't sell I might turn it into my next project bike. If you're buying the bike and interested in the parts for the conversion, let me know.

Here are some more pictures of the beautiful Ram and it's metallic orange paint in the sun. I'm truly having second thoughts as I pulled the bike out to take pics. Perhaps I should go ahead with the planned 650b conversion and get some wider tires in there, new drivetrain, etc... anyway for now it's still for sale. Also, please see the details of the paint damage, chips and scratches in teh additional photos.

Some people reached out asking about the frameset alone but at this point I'm only interested in selling the complete bike as shown below. Please note that the saddle, pedals, cages, and the pictured XC pro seatpost are not included (I'll swap out the seatpost for a Nitto seatpost as posted originally)

Who doesn't like an orange Riv ?
Question for the group, as I looked at this post: What do you think is the difference in ride "feel" between a Ram and a Roadini? I have an orange (of course) Roadini which I like a lot. Very comfy once up to speed, although it took cockpit changes, big cushy tires and a cushioned seat to get there. But I find it to be somewhat overbuilt, sort of stiff, dead feeling, no "give" to it when standing climbing up a hill. Is the ride of the Ram more lively in comparison? A little more flexible and lighter, perhaps? I know this is subjective, differences in geometry, tubing, tires, etc. all play a role. Still, I'd be interested in the group's experiences.

Might need to look for a swap ?!?!

Best,
Alan NYC

I never tried a Roadini but my perception is that my orange 60 Ram feels much lighter than the 61 Toyo AHH I used to have. More like my Soma San Marcos than the AHH.

To be fair, the AHH had plastic sks fenders and a marks rack in the front and a light-ish Nitto rear rack (R14?) but I’m pretty certain the Ram feels more nimble.

Not sure that helps compare with a Roadini.

I wonder what caused the paint cracking and loss at the head tube lug.

I have wondered the same thing and I honestly don't know, maybe damage while transporting in on a car rack? or a child seat?

I bought the frame used and unfortunately don't have the answer.

Bump - someone emailed me recently (but then disappeared) asking is this is still for sale. It sure is - come check it out in Boston! Or take a leap and get an incredibly light and fun bike.

I'm tempted to just keep it for a bit and go through with the 650b conversion I had planned for it. I already have some nice wheels, RH tires and Mafac Raid brakes ready to go, but haven't found the time to do it.

We'll see which one sells first: the Ram or the Wilbury and that will determine the path forward.
