Howdy,

I’m on the lookout for a ~59cm Atlantis (preferably older model w/ shorter chainstays, but open to the newer/longer frame)! I love everything about the bike, and looks like it can do-it all (at least all that I want to do).

I tried a 62cm the other day—it was a wonderful ride and beautiful bike, but felt too large. I’m 6’1” w/ a PBH of 89.5cm and normally ride ~58-60cm. According to the current Atlantis size chart, I line up with the 59cm model. The double top tube also looks quite nice and would suit some of my trail and touring needs. I’ve seen some 56s and 62+s online, but given the price I want the right fit.

I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area, but also willing to consider shipping.

Let me know:)

Thanks

-E

I have both a Suluki and Atlantis in burnt Orange 58 cm. Both are a tad big for me as I get older. Atlantis is 26" wheels with Paul hubs and brakes laced up at Walnut Creek and set up for touring with drop bars and a second set of levers. Saluting set up with mustache bars 650b wheels

Ethan,
By saying you prefer the older model Atlantis with shorter stays, but using the newer model for sizing, you are talking two different bikes in terms of fit. I'm 6'1" and have a 90cm PBH the last time I used that method of fitting. In the old Toyo model sizing I fit a 64cm just fine, in the newer Taiwan model I'd ride a 59? or at least I think that was the size below the 62 a few years back. The 62 just felt too big, too long. Also you are in the bay so 25min and you are on Riv doorstep to try bikes on for size.

Hey Karl would you mind sharing some images of the bikes you’re offering?

I’ve always wanted a canti Saluki and also own a 58cm toyo Atlantis.

Thanks,

Plumber Vern

Atlantis link 58 cm with Paul and Phil components, Shimano rear derailleur is a reverse pull set up... I like it, but not everyone does.

I am the original owner, purchased around 2012 or so, custom color, as it was an unpainted frame at the time. All in a bit over $5000, I may be able to find the receipt in PDF format on one of my hard drives. Set up to go across the USA, never did... most likely less than 1000 miles on it. Why did I go nuts on the build, I had a great sales year and this was my treat to myself in anticipation of a ride that I did not do when I was 18 and getting out of high school.

Saluki link 58 cm standard build, mustache bars, silver brakes and bar end shifters

I am the second owner purchased about 2 years ago, total mileage on the bike, most likely 500-1000 miles. Too big for the original owner, and he felt it was also too nice to ride. He dropped the bike once and it ripped the bar tape, so he re-taped with a different color, but same texture tape on the right side of the bar. I bought it for $2,200 (local buy, he did not have to ship it, so I got a bit of a deal, not to have to break it down to ship to an out of state buyer).

Happy to bring the bikes to my LBS, and have them pack and ship at your cost.

Why am I giving up these two beauties, getting a bit older, and the frame size is getting to feel too big now. In no rush to sell, and apologies for the dusty conditions of the frames in the pictures. I still take them out every week for a cruise.. and Reno NV is high desert dusty.

Best regards

Karl

On my share of my 2 Rivs.. I will likely swap the mustache and drop bars to have a Saluki with drop bars and the Atlantis with the mustache bars this fall. The Atlantis definitely has the feel of a XO-1 that I sold years back when times were tough, and putting on Schwalbe slicks vs the Marathons would make me feel 25 years younger.

Apologies if I missed it, but what is your asking price for the Saluki?  Half-retail - $1100?
