It appears that they didn't make the transition. Too bad, it was nice to see all the different ways to build up the Riv bikes. I hope they bring it over to the new site. For now, you can see them on the old site via the Internet wayback site.

Igor asked about a Staff Bikes Gallery on rivbike.com.

Presumably there is something specific you are looking for.  If there is, then you should be able to use the wayback machine to locate the page you are after.  If you don't know what the wayback machine is, it's a website that takes internet snapshots of a large percentage of the entire internet.  If you know the url you care about, and you know roughly when in time you want a snapshot of that url, then you can browse for it on the wayback machine.  If you just want to idly browse through photographs of Rivendells because its diverting, then the wayback machine won't be fun for you, particularly if you don't know what it is or how to use it.  For idle browsing of Rivendell photos, there's always flickr.  If you specifically and exclusively demand a browsable Staff Bikes Gallery and only want to find it on rivbike.com, then 'Cannot locate' was a correct statement.  There is no such gallery on the new site.  If you want to determine whether there will be, call in and ask Dave, perhaps.  Whenever I move, it's an opportunity to shed clutter, and maybe they did the same thing.

I really preferred the old site over the new one.

Also, I don't think a company should refer to a segment of their products as "cheaper". I'm not in marketing but I bet that's like in Marketing 101....

"Imported Framesets - $850-1300

Made & painted in bunches, seasonally in-stock, cheaper"

Seems entirely in keeping with the overall Riv philosophy of calling things what they are.

Riv calling their product "cheaper" just gets my attention, it does not turn me off. But then, I have drunken deeply of the Riv kooll-aid.          Jim D           Massachusetts

i finally had a chance to check out the site.

i have no problem with the marketing of things as cheaper. while i found the old website to be labyrinthian, it was sort of charming. you could stumble upon secret items and it felt weird and in line with the brand. the page with staff bikes fit into this low stakes aesthetic.

this new website has way too many categories.
the "full catelog" section has 32 subsections with separate sections for "parts" and "cranks""stems" etc...  its like someone took the labyrinth and made every pathway front and center now, and its seems messy and overwhelmingly complicated. do we really need a "frames" and "current models" section and then also a "complete bikes" section that has a page for "frame deposit"?
i say this out of love. i want new people to like the bikes as much as i do and not be confused by the website. the organizer in me is going crazy

Yes, I find the new site somewhat over categorized. I had no problem navigating the old one.

The new site is prettier, though.

I daresay I'll get used to the new one.

as with ANY website redesign, we'll adapt and this new version will seem normal in short order.

as a designer, the only critique i'll levy is that it takes too long to navigate to big beautiful images of the 9 bike models. and to me, that's what rivendell is all about. their philosophy, expertise, and aesthetic sensibilities distilled into each and every bike in their line. i feel horrible giving completely unsolicited criticism to something that obviously took significant time and effort (and was indeed well done). but i also say this out of love. i love riv bikes and want as many new customers to experience them as humanly possible. ugh...i hope grant doesn't read this.

There's always https://www.flickr.com/groups/rbwstaffbikes/

Didn't they do this with the previous site redesign, only bringing
back the staff bikes due to "popular demand" or some such? I'd
imagine they have priorities related to running a business and
pictures of their own bikes will resurface when someone has a slow day
or two.

The site has improved some in the last couple days. I suspect staff bikes will show up again eventually.
