Some of you might have seen my listing on eBay for $600. If you're wondering about the price there, let me explain. It comes down to eBay fees and my reluctance to sell. I'd be happy to sell it for considerably less to a forum member, where we can avoid fees and I can get it to someone I know.
I'm feeling burdened with stuff but remain a little reluctant to sell this batch of goods. I felt a lot of excitement around collecting and reading all of this material as it was first acquired. And I did read it all. But it's been languishing in a milk crate and it's time to move it along.
Spiritually speaking, I think I should just give the collection away. But I put a lot of time, effort and money into piecing at all together. Part of the cost is in labor, part is for the comprehensive nature of the collection. I spent years collecting this stuff in small batches here and there, through dozens of listings and shipments, from individual items to bundles of ephemera. I don't know of any other listings that are nearly as complete, here, on ebay, facebook groups or from bicycle shops online. If you know of any completed lots, let me know! I'm curious.

There are some rare and early bits. Like a very special mailer that Grant sent to Bridgestone Owners Bunch members announcing the formation of Rivendell and their first frames. This folder is post dated January 1995 using Bridgestone stationary. If I recall correctly (and I could be wrong), Grant started Rivendell in December of 1994, so this is very early. Includes a letter hand-signed by Grant, with written descriptions of the earliest frames offerings (Road, Mountain, All-Rounder), notes on tubing spec, frame building and paint. No photos, super analog.
Color frame brochures detailing individual frames: Atlantis, Hillborne, Cheviot, Rambouillet.
There are several bits of Bridgestone ephemera from the Grant era. All three of the Bridgestone catalogs that Grant produced along are here along with a run of BOB Gazettes. These are beautiful catalogs printed on matte paper, no expense spared, lovely illustrations and drawings of frames, articles on how lugs are made and how tubing is butted. Also, an article on baseball gloves. The Bridgestone element is less complete than the Rivendell element: of the BOB Gazettes we're missing issues #1, #3 and #6. There were only 8 issues produced, they are hard to come by.
This collection was painstakingly acquired over the course of several years, combining many, many lots and collections from other Rivendell owners and members of the Bridgestone Owners Bunch. Many of the original owners' address labels are included, affixed to the Readers and the Catalogs.
