Beginning to price out a new AHH before the frames go up and I'm using this bike for a variety of purposes one of which is commuting. I don't like clips or pant protectors or special pants so I thought about one of these. http://www.rivbike.com/product-p/chrg.htm Anyone else do this on their bike?

I've got it on the Sam and love it. Still wont save the lightest of khakis, but works great with my jeans.

Oh good, glad to hear it worked out. You basically lose the outer ring right?

I run a triple crankset with two rings. What was a 52/42/30, I converted to a chainguard/42/30. Later I swapped the 30 for a 26. I run it on my commuter, a 650B conversion:
With an 11-32 in back, you would have absolutely every you could possibly need on a Hilsen, in my opinion.

I'm running a 1x9 on one of my bikes (commuter) with a similar chainguard (Salsa) and a chain guide--it's a great setup. I have a top gear of something close to 100 gear inches (42/11) which is usually plenty.

Chris, Yeah, I dumped the 36 and the 46 and got a 40 and the guard. I'd do it again for sure. The 40x12 is good enough for downhill (for me) and I find I just leave it in the 40 for almost everything. I tried leaving the 36 but it just never quite felt right when I needed a little oomph. The crank looks a little funny and small, but classy.
