Does anyone have experience with the Heron Randonneur Bikes? Are they similar to any of the Rivendell models? One came up on Craigslist and I was curious if anyone has experience with them.

Really great deal as is but could be repainted  and made very fancy too. Frame is nice enough that out would be well worth what ever you wanted to spend on paint Nitto components Honjo fenders etc. 

Or you could just ride it.

Granted, it's been ridden hard and put away wet, but it's certainly worth cleaning up and riding. I had the Heron Road (first gen Ted Durant version) and it had an amazing ride. I should have kept it.
