I plan on retiring later this year so the time has come to sell some bikes. I have made a spreadsheet of my 27 bicycles. Nothing is quite ready to sell quite yet, but I have 8 months to sell 8 bicycles.Bicycles.JPG

Yes, but Ahmed's second point still stands. You have sizes listed for the Rivs that you aren't selling, but you'll get greater interest in the bikes you are selling if you post the sizes (and prices, and specific photos for each bike; not just a view of the top tube as it hangs from the wall).

Communication appears as flawed in 2022 as ever. 
Hopefully most realize this as not a legit FS post which yes historically requires a listing price and benefits from a detailed description and accurate pictures.

He clearly states that “nothing is quite ready to sell quite yet” in a posting simple named THINNING THE HERD.
 I personally attribulate his posting here is to anouch how excited he is to retire this coming year and that among his 27 current bikes he loves the Rivendells enough to not INITIALLY sell any of them.     

I am not a moderator but personally have no problem with a genuine consistent Riv List Poster to use it to get the word out or even list his bikes a fellow Riv fanatic might want.  

If the Paramounts etc were 67+cm  frames I would be waiting for potential actual FS postings.

Happy New Year everyone.  Hope to keep this as friendly as encouraging as possible through the cold winter months in Michigan when my Rivs stay hung until random spring days arrive as early as February when a high 30 degree day with sunshine and little wind might get me to mount something other than my Tumbleweed.  

Maybe I have a soft spot for Laing because I have similar hoarding issues.

As I said in the original post, nothing is for sale quite yet. The title of the post did not have a FS in it. Many bikes need to be completed or maintained or the decision to sell them complete, as-is or as a frame only needs to be made. The Crust Scapegoat that some have expressed interest in, for example, is just a roller at the moment, F, F, Headset, wheels (fat 26"), disc brakes & calipers, but no crank or drivetrain installed, etc. Once I am ready to sell, I will post a proper FS notice.
The spreadsheet is incomplete. I am trying to get organized and seeing if there was any interest here in some of the bikes. Among the bikes on the spreadsheet were a Velo Orange Neutrino and a Pashley Guv'nor (neither for sale) that have been discussed on this forum in the past. Rivendell often posts about other bikes in the newsletters and Blahg so I have never believed that this is a Rivendell only forum. The Scott SUB10 is an all aluminum, disc braked, belt drive IGH urban bike, but it it is fully fendered and racked, has a kickstand, and has Little Big Ben Tires, SKS mud flaps and a Brooks saddle (all bought from Rivendell). The Rivendell Custom on the other hand doesn't have any provision for racks or fenders, doesn't even have holes in the brake or chain stay bridges. Which is more "Rivvy"?
The give-away bikes are bikes that are going to some people that have helped my wife out over the years. They need to get completed before anything else.
I am not a business, I will definitely not be making any profit on any of this. As I said, trying to thin the herd before retirement and make some room in the garage, so hopefully I can get the rowboat on the trailer into the garage.
