Mission Accomplished

My wife, Cindy, just crossed the 1000-mile threshold for this biking season, riding her beloved red Glorius (bought from a member of this list) on the hillier part of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail in northwest lower Michigan. We think that's pretty good, considering she only started riding regularly when she was in her 50s. She has now done it almost every summer for the past ten years.

please tell cindy she's not helping me get over my desire for a platypus. on which's back, by the way, i would almost certainly put an r15 rack/big-loafer-ish combination, already in my garage waiting for just such a frame.

especially if i can find a tree-lined trail to ride. near an ocean.

that trail picture pretty much defines my platonic ideal of riding for me: fall, bright cool weather, tall trees.

well done on the miles! more importantly, i hope you can enjoy as many miles as you want, cindy.

Way to go!  That's an impressive record of riding and staying fit.  And by the way, your Glorius is gorgeous.  What's better than taking a ride through the dappled light of fall?

Wow, nice accomplishment! Hitting 1,000 miles in a season is definitely something I aspire to. I’m still working on building up my mileage, but stories like this give me a great goal to aim for. Huge congrats to her, and I hope to be celebrating my own milestone like that someday soon!
