Hi folks,

I'm kicking myself for selling my Gus Boots a year or two ago, and wondering if anyone is not getting a lot of miles out of their Susie (preferably the lugged version)?

I'd be interested in what you've got, or potentially a big Clem L frame. I have a bunch of parts so I'm not totally sold on a complete build, but you never know.

Cheers,
Reid in Austin, TX

@Reid,

I would suggest keep a regular, yet often search on the Facebook page of Rivendell_Bicycles BUY/SELL and TRADE. There is a lot of Rivendell bicycles and componentry traffic going on there daily. I visit it often. You will never know what will appear.

I am sorry to hear of your regrets of selling your Mr. Gus Boots Willsen bicycle. Truly one of a kind and too bad that it out of production, Rivendell's mtn. bike.

Reid,

Why did you sell your Gus Boots Wilson? i currently feel like I could sell off some bikes to get one now. I was on the fence on the long rear stays, but after my pilgrimage to Rivendell Bicycle Works HQ and riding a Clem Smith Jr. I am more on board with getting one or a lugged Suzie Longbolts/Wolbis Slugstone based on my size and weight. With my riding I could probably be fine on an original Suzie.

I have an O.G. Rivendell Mountain that has kept me from justifying another Riv prior.

Thanks,

Reginald Alexis

@Reginald,

I hope that there will be one day you will be able to justify owning a Clem or a Suzie W. Longbolts.  Believe me, they are truly worth the investment. The ride is unmatched by another bicycle, solid and sure-footed with versatility both on and off road.

The Craigslist for sale post of the Rivendell XL SUSIE W. LONGBOLTS has been deleted. It has been sold.
