True, I kinda lost track of this thread and only remembered the original asking price before photos. Which is what I get for going back to it late at night and commenting without re-reading the whole thing. My bad.
Bill,
Belopsky's frantic pace of bike acquisition and disposal is a good thing for the community for several reasons:
1) It provides many opportunities for those his size (alas, or perhaps, thankfully not me...) to get barely ridden, almost new bikes at a discount.2) It makes my own bike churning tendencies look positively ascetic.3) It boosts Riv and other purveyors' sales as he tries one new bike after another.
I salute his commitment to the search for his "perfect" bike and I sincerely hope that he someday finds a bike that he likes well enough to keep...
and propose that he should name at least one bike Rocinante. :)

Not really a discount unless he's taking offers.
Julian: I understand the thinking behind the price, I've just sold too many bikes to see it as realistic. There's always a chance you'll get lucky and find that buyer who just HAS to have your bike, but mostly the used market doesn't care about upgrades and accessories. People look at the new price and count back from there, that's just the way it is.
