Fantastic bike!  I would have chosen a different color, but I hope it brings you thousands of happy miles!

Oooh! I don't have a BRG bike!  It's my fave color on a bike.  I'm hoping to build up another bike next year and have that as the color!  I do have a BRG Brooks B17 :)
Now, to drool over these posted pics....

In addition to yesterday's Wilbury, I offer my Mystery Bike with its tentacular stays in BRG:

And maybe a SimpleOne qualifies?

I've got three bikes and a rack that need to go to the powdercoaters, but I keep putting it off.

The first of the three will most likely be powdercoated this color:

I don't particularly care if people love or hate the color.  A crappy bike in your favorite color is still a crappy bike.  A fantastic bike in your least favorite 'colorway' is still a fantastic bike.  If your color-bias is so out-of-whack that the color prevents you from enjoying what is good about a bike, then that's unfortunate.

After years of extensive testing silver and orange are the fastest bikes in my stable. No other colors even came close. BRG didn't even show up. Shrug. Grin.

To add to the fray - my '92 MB-5 in BRG, or very close to it!

Sporting Riv standard wheelset, original Deore LX drivetrain, Rat Trap Pass tires, etc. It's fun and I love riding it. It's icing on the cake that it's my favorite bike color.

Bunch o' clowns, but here you go.

As much as I do like the color, I think "one" is probably enough.

Some day I'll paint the QB.

That's not BRG - much to light and bright.  Not a bad color, but still, not the real thing.

Of course it's the real thing. Just a different real thing. In the spirit of clan tartans, we can call this ancient British racing green. They used natural dies that faded with sun. The lighter the green the greater the rider. Grin.

With abandon,
Patrick

Had one a few years back.  When Hiroshi asked what color I wanted I told him, "British Racing Green."  He knew exactly what I wanted.

Years ago I had a pink racing bike.  It takes a lot of self confidence for a man to ride a pink bike.  I also had an orange Ebisu.  I loved the bike & the color but it wasn't particularly fast.

When we had the tandem repainted I wanted to go with an orange frame and BRG racks & fenders, but the stoker announced that Rollex was, is, and always will be racing green.

My Kuwahara. I bought the frame and fork on eBay and it was pretty beat up, but I have never yet been able to bring myself to erase a bicycle's history. I like me some beautiful usage. I like the silver panels with the BRG. I usually end up liking whatever color my bike happens to be, though I suppose bright reds are not my fave.

Damn, Frank.  Since I might be one of the few odd ducks on this board who recognizes how special it is, I should say it:  That McClung is stunning and you are a lucky man and I am jealous.   Are you in Colorado, or did you just "know?"

BRG is a wonderful color for a bike, especially a British bike.  Here's the current iteration of my BRG Bob Jackson:

The first version had drop bars:

Another great color, ATMO, is Emerald Green:

This is a fun thread, thanks David.

Colors are tricky. It matters what surrounds them, so BRG won't look the same enywhere other than the UK. Here's my bike, may have posted it before:

Thanks! I tried to set it up just like I would a 26"-wheeled Atlantis.

Of course it's zip-tied! Is there really any other way to attach a Wald basket to a rack? ;)

iamkeith,

Thanks. I am not in Co. but i have "known" about Don since 2004 or so. This thread:  http://forums.mtbr.com/singlespeed/my-new-mcclung-453309.html   - finally convinced me I couldn't live without one. A few phone calls and a few years later I had it. I'm definitely a "Riv guy" ... but every time I get on the Mcclung I'm amazed by how great it really is.

I like green.  It's not a Rivendell but I like my green bike a lot.  Low trial 650B IG kind of a bike...

I'm just back from the Saranac Lake Tandem Rally where there were 30+ really nice tandems, including two in the $20,000 plus range kind of fancy.  None of those bike drew as much attention as our classy BRG tandem.  Of course it helped that I had a chain tensioner system that none of them had ever seen before.

This bike is green and it is from Great Britain. It is not British Racing Green and no zip ties were used in its construction:

I was going for BRG in a matte finish with this Saluki paint job and I'm pretty happy w/ it. A bit darker would have been even better.  Love a BRG bike or auto.

You've seen it before, but I like to show it off. New BB7 Road calipers with Dura Ace 74-something levers, and a weirdly wonderful 44/40/26X15-30 drivetrain (Silvers pulling DA 7410 derailleurs). K-Lite, very powerful, but doesn't power up until you reach jogging speed.

Oh! And of course the Silca Impero, to continue the "road bike for dirt" theme.
