I have a 42 cm wide version of each, which I've traded back and forth on a Soma San Marcos frame.

Over time, I can't shake the conclusion that a combination of the tops of the Noodles and the drops of the Highway One would be ideal.

Any thoughts on that observation...and any suggestions as to a third option that might yield that imagined result?

Thanks

Lucky for you, Fairweather had the same idea:

I just sold a pair. A tad less drop than the HWY 1, but same reach . The tops bend back like the Noodle.

An excellent bar, one that looks and works great on my Saluki.

The salsa cowbell 2 is another option, but only if you're using a 31.8. I thought there was less of a drop on the cowbell but it's practically identical when you examine the specs.

I graduated from noodle to hway1 to cowbell. Noodle's reach was too far, Hway1's flare didn't seem to be wide enough, and now I think I'm set on the cowbell. That Fairweather looks great for the quill stem crowd.

this might be in the ball park of what you are looking for, though i found the reach to be too short. went with the compass maes bars instead.

The Nitto Mod 174 looks like a perfect bar and I do like the sloping top outside on these and noodles.  .
Though the ramps are steeper, you can get the same reach and similar drop with Cinelli 64 dream bars

must admit, what makes these work well is Modolo 919 hoods (I'm spared on these)

PG,

I just received a pair of the 42 mm Fairweather bars from Japan. These are the bars that do it for me. I had 42cm Noodles.

Thanks Les. I was unaware of these bars...they look great.

Are you in the US?  Where did you order them?

I'm in Florida and ordered them from Japan. The bummer was that EMS was $43 but once the bars arrived I was smiling. I never used the drops with Noodle but will with these. :-)
