Hey, remember this? Yeah, I gotta sell it. My increasingly painful right wrist which kept decreasing my ride time has been diagnosed as arthritis..I've purchased a Crank Forward bike so I can keep riding. I spent a ton of cash on this at Analog Cycles a few months ago so it won't be cheap, but less than I have in it.

MIT Atlantis frame 53cm, blackout treatment for parts.
White Ind. MI5 rear hub, SON dynohub, Sapim black spokes, gold nipples, Cliffhanger rims, Simworks The Homage 650B x 43 tubeless tires
Simworks by Honjo fenders

Black Mark's Rack, Herrmans H-Black Pro headlight, B&M taillight (both dyno)
Cane Creak 110 headset
Origin8 stem, Jones Loop 710 bars
Ritchey post
Sugino double crank set up as 1x 36t
Paul Chainkeeper
Microshift Advent 9-speed derailer, shifter, 11-42 cassette, Wipperman nickel chain
Bombshell black/gold v-brakes, Shimano levers
Paul gold w/ black inserts skewers
Black Nitto cage

I also have a just shipped blacked out Nitto Big Rack from Analog, haven't installed, not included in this price but we can talk. Bike currently has only the front rack.
No saddle or pedals.

Yes, it's gorgeous, and it's deeply painful that I can't ride it but it's literally too painful to do so...age and my family's history with arthritis have caught up to me.

$3300 plus Bicycle Odyssey packing (they're good) and Bike Flights shipping
Email or text for more pics, chit-chat and whatnot

Hey, someone should purchase this 53 Atlantis.
By the way, this particular size is not anymore available from Riv.
It this were a size 50 I would be calling Joe already :-)

Hi Joe,
Your 53 Atlantis is too tall for my 80 pbh and I am only 5'-5"    :-(

Have you checked this against Riv's sizing charts?  One of the advantages of the new designs is that they fit a wider range of people.

This is true, my PBH is 79-80ish. The only way I could drop down to a 50 MIT-A is if I was using drop or Moustache bars. In fact I'd need a 56 to get the reach right for Boscos.

Thanks Doug, unfortunately according to Riv sizing chart the 53 is too large.

I'm putting this out there for any potential buyers, not to try to talk you specifically into snagging it:

I'm a little mystified by Riv's PBH chart for this frame and don't agree with it. Unless they envision this as a touring bike with drops, it just doesn't make sense. I'm 5'-7", 79-80 PBH, and I definitely need a 53 MIT Atlantis to run any kind of flat or pullback bar. And I have enough standover clearance for road/gravel/fire road. So there ya go.

Is anyone running a 53 with drops who has a 85 PBH? ISorry Joe that you have to sell. I know you loved this bike.

Thanks Jonathan. Yes, it's an unbelievable drag that I can't ride it, I invested serious cash to get such a nice build on a Riv I've always admired. But whaddyagonnado?

It’s an amazing build. I know a young woman with a 78 PBH who left teaching after a really bad experience and now works at the local non profit bike shop who it would be perfect for but it’s way outside her price range.

"I'm a little mystified by Riv's PBH chart for this frame "

I just took a look at both the new & old sizing charts.  On the old one, they used PBH, but it's not on the new one.  The closest dimension is stand-over height.  I'm 5'10" with an 84 cm PBH.  On the old sizing chart, I could ride either a 56 or 58 Atlantis.  I have a 58 that fits well.  When I visited Rivendell & took a test ride on the new Atlantis, they asked my saddle height (29" = 73.66 cm), set up a bike & sent me on my way.  The fit was so close to my 58 that I didn't realize it was a 53 until I returned & asked (assuming it was a 56).  So there is quite a difference between "new" sizing & "old".

Maybe you take your PBH & subtract a couple of centimeters for clearance to choose a standover height?

The sizing recs on the new MIT versions of old frames are definitely a little confusing. I didn't really deal with that because this particular bike was offered as a hardly ridden demo from Analog Cycles; all I had to do was check the toptube length (I know I can step over a 53 frame) and confirm I could reach the bars. Yep!

Btw, a few folks have asked about the new bike I bought to deal with this damn arthritis. It's a RANS Dynamik the seller had powdercoated the brightest neon green in the history of green. It ain't pretty, but it's a blast to ride..and no pain! Hey, do ya think I could talk Grant into doing a fillet brazed custom version? 😬

You mean the forthcoming Jöe "Wrists" St. Bernard? 16" wheels, clearance for 3.5" tires, dual drum brakes if I'm reading this drawing right.

Update: Frameset is pending cuz someone asked and I said yes, I don't think I'm going to move this as a complete.

Holla if you see parts you're interested in, I don't have a price list yet but I'll work one up. I figure the wheels with tires is $1000 picked up in Novato CA., or I might be talked into shipping. Hard to say!

FWIW, I have a 53 MIT Atlantis. I'm 5' 71/2" 82 ish PBH 71 cm saddle height 110mm stem with Billie Bars. Riv recommended a 50 but I told Will that most riding will be on the road and went 53. Glad I did. I can still use drops with a short stem. Stand over is fine and the bike feels perfect. Running 42mm tires and could also use 47's.
