Dear Shipra, Charmi, Dinesh, Donna, Dipal,

This year for M18 I would like to take the following approach to projects:
  1. We divide the students into groups of 5.
  2. Each Group is given one product category to work with through the entire year
  3. All subject-specific project work can be aligned to this product category.
  4. Projects that the class will undertake:
    1. STP in Marketing Management
    2. MIS graphs and charts
    3. Research paper, hypothesis
    4. Social Media strategy
    5. Perspective Management - Stram concepts - Porter's Five Forces, Value Chain analysis, Competitive strategies, etc.
    6. FA - financial accounting analysis
    7. AFS - analysis of financial statements
  5. The product categories I propose (and we can review and debate). We need to keep in mind that the product categories have companies which are listed on the stock market
    1. Oral health care
    2. Automobiles
    3. Smartphones
    4. Consumer electronics
    5. Tyre industry
    6. Plastic products(Nilkamal)
    7. Textiles processing
    8. Travel agencies (Cox and Kings, Thomas Cook)
    9. Dry Cells
    10. Cigarettes
    11. Breweries and Distilleries
    12. Ceramic tiles
Please prepare a Detailed Project plan for your subject area, and which would be the best suited product categories for your subject area. Then we can look at shorlisting the list to 7 product categories.

We need to close this by Friday, 12 August 2016.

Thanks.

Dear Sir
I have outlined the BRM course in the Course - BRM document in M18 timelines. Contrary to our general practice, I have also included the dates so that it is easier to co-relate with rbs schedules (these can be deleted after approval).

Regarding the above product categories, I have reservations in terms of data availability in the following surveys
  • Tyres
  • Textiles
  • Dry cells
  • Cigarettes

Probably we could instead include more general and popular categories such as ATM services, Watches, Branded rice....

Regards
Shipra
