Sending ciphertext

I've been playing around with RbNaCl and it's really great, but, I was wondering about the best way to send the encrypted messages to people? I was thinking of using Base64 encoding but I wasn't sure if that would be the best route. Any suggestions?

Base64 works. I experimented with making my own message formats for this sort of thing too:
