Riverside overcomes a 14-point 2nd half deficit to eke out a win over Ubly, and we can grab onto some small amount of hope that this might finally break the seemingly permanent condition of being owned by this team. The triumvirate of Bobby Phills, Vin Baker, and Kenny Anderson is just so tough to play against. Phills and Baker, in particular, seem to never miss a shot. Phills finished 12-17 FG, 2-4 3FG for 28 points. Baker was 11-19 FG for 27 points and 13 rebounds. Anderson did not shoot it well this game (9-27 FG, 2-11 3FG, 4-7 FT), but still had 24 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Dale Davis had 11 rebounds, including 7 of the offensive variety. Joe Smith had a rough game, going 2-13 from the field before fouling out.

Riverside started horribly, committing 13 PF in the first 13 minutes, and Ubly was taking the ball away from us over and over again. But the game changed when the fouls started going the other way, heavily. Ubly ended up with 35 PF to Riverside's 23, and though we committed 18 turnovers, most of those were in the 1st half. We got to the line and converted 41 of 53 free throw attempts.

Alonzo Mourning (11-17 FG) had 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. Gary Payton had 22 points and 7 assists. Olden Polynice (7-9 FG) had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

GAME STORY
In a game not decided until the final minute of play Riverside topped Ubly by the
final tally of 125 to 121.  Alonzo Mourning had 31 points for Riverside.  Vin Baker
had 27 points for Ubly.  Bobby Phills added 28 points.  Ubly(17-16) will have chance
for revenge versus Riverside(20-13) as these two teams are scheduled to face off
again.
