Subject: Strat Basketball Rating Guide & Total Card Values

Hello Strat Basketball Commissioners!

I hope this email finds you well and hope your league had a great 2019-20 season.  I imagine you are excited to start the new 2020-21 league season and I do understand the frustration caused by the late release of Strat-O-Matic Basketball, which hopefully will be releasing here soon in the next week or two. The late end to the NBA regular season pushed the work on basketball by four months and the team at Strat-O-Matic worked hard to complete the new season as fast as possible. I have completed the 2019-20 Rating Guide and Total Card Values where you can find more information at Stratometrics.com if you are interested in purchasing it. Can you send out a message to your coaches to let them know that the 2019-20 RG/TCV files are now available? I have attached a paragraph you can use. Hopefully, the new guide and card values will give you and your league coaches something to keep you busy until 2020 Strat Basketball is released. Thanks you for running a basketball league and providing a league with your unique rules and style. And if there is anything I can do to help including offering a place to host your website, please let me know. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jason Blaze

Hello Strat Basketball Coaches!

I wanted to take a little time to thank you for playing Strat Basketball and participating in a basketball league. I understand if the late finish to the NBA regular season and the subsequent late release of the basketball game can cause some to get frustrated. The basketball team with Strat has worked hard to get the make the new season available as quick as possible, and we thank you for your patience! I am confident you will be happy with the 2019-20 season once it releases with the new version of the Strat Basketball!

I have the new 2019-20 Rating Guide and Total Card Values now available for those of you interested in reviewing the player ratings and their card values. You can find more details on the Rating Guide/TCV combo through Stratometrics.com. If you decide to purchase the guide and card values, hopefully, it will help to keep you busy while we wait for the new release.

The Rating Guide lists the eligible positions for all player, their shooting ratings, their raw Strat ratings and totals up the shot column rating chances so you do not have to do all the math yourself. The guide provides a “Points Per Pass (PPP) rating to help you compare passers with different steal, turnover, position, open, fastbreak, and dazzler ratings. It also adds totals the offensive and defensive rebound ratings into a total rebound rating to help compared the rebound ability among players.

The Total Card Values give the overall value of players per 48 minutes. The Total Card Value is broken down into an Offensive Card Value and Defensvie Card Value to help you weigh the offensive verses defensive value for each player. The ten categories on a player’s card are given value based on the expected points you would generate from each rating and how often you would expect to see it referenced. The ratings at each position are referenced more or less often than another position and therefore players are rated by position. The players are ranked from most to least value at the five position to allow you to compare players at the same position. A Z-Score is provided  which will allow you to compare players from at different positions. While you certainly have to weigh the value of games played and minutes played for yourself, the Total Card Values do a good job of giving you the per minute Strat value of each player.

If you have any questions for me, please send me an email at ja...@somhoops.com.

Thanks,

Jason Blaze
