The last two turns lead to me trying to pick up the middle box and his unclaimed box. I got the middle one but my Dark Troopers died, meaning whilst I got to his other box, a lone snow trooper refused to die and prevented me from picking up it up. Even if I had I would still have lost on kill points as I needed to have both boxes.
Dien tried to use his last couple of bikes to soften up the Dark Troopers to reduce the damage, but I only suffered three wounds. To my surprise, Dien decided to still go for the play, and I managed to do five wounds to Vader; he still chose to use Implacable leaving him on a single health. Despite this, Vader still single handedly killed the Dark Troopers, Shore Troopers and choked the last Death Trooper.
On turn five I managed to kill the last two bikes escorting his payload and had my Dark Troopers contest the payload against the last Snow Troopers alive. It was at this point we talked the last turn out. Due to his Payload not moving I won on kill points.
Maul moved out claiming the middle box, then jumped back behind the line of sight. I had cleared all the Pink Suns down to unit leaders in the middle and managed to wipe out a five-model unit completely with the blast weapon from the Dark Troopers. This meant nothing in the long run whilst Lyla still controlled three boxes.
Simply said, it is a really well done summary of our entire project, including the setting, the 18 selfmade legions, our members, what support we are searching for AND a really good story about our version of Abaddon!
Since I was a kid, I wanted to write my own stories and create my own heroes but I necer joined a community to discuss my ideas. That all changed when I saw Athrawes 2nd Legion and the feedback he got. That convinced me to join the B&C. After doing some experiments in the Liber Astartes (including a samurai themed chapter called Dark Knights - yeah... I know what you're thinking...."I'm BATMAN!") I found this project. As all 18 legions were already created, I scrolled through all of its threads until I found what I was looking for - my chance to join this awesome project! Besides working on the BotL, I'm also revising one of my "old" chapter projects, the Storm Riders - a hawaiian themed chapter which is based on the ancient Koa warriors.
Firstly my Legion: The Grave Stalkers, now the XVth legion of the Brotherhood, formally one of many XIth Legions. A very small Legion of Pariahs who use fear as a weapon to sow discord amongst their foes before striking brutally at the head and heart to demolish all resistance. Originally I tried to take cues from South American and Mexican cultures such as the Mayans and Aztecs, as things have continued I think much of that has been subsumed into what the Grave Stalkers have become. Though hopefully some of it is still recognisable.
Well that is a long story to be told, but I will keep it short for the comfort of your eyes. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away (Okay 8 years, but you get the point.) I walked into a weird looking model store. I bought a set of cool looking miniatures and very soon I became obsessed with this universe called "Warhammer 40k". I soon started collecting and joined a local gaming club. Many years later (about 6 years) I stumbled across this very forum. I became obsessed with it and started painting and building even more then I did before (I used to be slow, but now some call me a demon engine of creation, building and painting whole units in the matter of hours). After about half a year later I stumbled across the legion tread of Simison, I saw a discussion, and soon this idea escalated. I was (at the time) buissy with creating a legion called the Imperial Eagles, they soon changed their name to the Eagle Warriors, and so became part of the very first of the legions participating in this huge project.
I come from a rather poor family so moneyand time were never on my side, this greatly stopped my creative productivity, but never fully killed it. This made creating my own legion a bit more fun too, and so made me want to participate in this project even more.
I am one of the master moddelers and co-founders of legions in this project. I have created a number of pieces for this project model wise already, and am known to create the visions of others in the form of primarch models. I also am in a cooperation with brother Sigismund229 on creating my legion "The Eagle Warriors". My other works in this projects are mostly in the rules section. My origins lay in my local group, one of the most competitive and powergamer groups in the whole of the world. This has made me get a hard and cold logical eye for rules and reasons why the rules are so.
For the sake of everyone's sanity though I'll keep it short. Much of the tale has been lost to the mists of time but from what I remember, it began with my Dad. He was into modelling but old WW2 airoplanes and that kind of thing so that's how I started. Eventually however, I began to be drawn more towards fantasy and the like and then, 11 or so years ago, I came across 40k. I was immediately drawn into the grimdark universe and so I started my first army: the Black Templars. However, after 2k points of them I moved to another, in my opinion, more badass army: the Death Korps of Krieg. Their grim attitude and willingness to sacrifice anything for victory really drew me to them and over the next years I collected I don't know how many points of infantry-heavy Krieg, an army I've since sold(extremely sadly). As I did this, I began reading the Horus Heresy books from Black Library and so, when Betrayel was released, I resolved to start an army of pre Heresy. However, since I didn't really find any of the Legions really gelled with what I wanted(masses of breachers) and so, in conjunction with AlphariusOmegon108 I started working on a lost legion. The Crimson Lions.
I'm one of the later joiners of this project(although, thanks to AO108 my legion was one of the first to join it) and my legion are the Crimson Lions. Since then I've taken up a role as an editor of sections that are going to go in the Books and I've written most of the fluff for the Grave Stalkers and Eagle Warriors, am writing that of the Warriors of Peave and have written substantial sections on the Iron Bears. Also I tend to be a bit too creative so I produce a lot of half baked and not really thought through ideas(shoulder-breaker rifles, the Blood Crusade, the beacons etc.)

Origin?
America by birth, Britain by blood, and Canada and Italy, because my family is large and odd.
Why are you here?
'Twas a dark and stormy night, when a friend of mine showed me a huge hardback book filled with pictures of cool looking models (WHFB's 6th edition rule book). He bought me a box of Empire Flagellants, and with that I was hooked. Give or take a few years and I had bridged into 40k with Stormclaw, beginning to post the progress I made with my orks on the WAAAGH! and my Space Wolves on this humble forum. The B&C made me acutely aware of 30k, but due to funds I was not able to buy an Forgeworld models. Thus, inspired by others and to stave off boredom, I began work on my two Lost Legions. And when simison suggested lumping together all these projects into one ungainly, beautiful monstrosity, I jumped aboard without looking back.
What is your part in this project?
In this project, I head up not one but two Legions, the mighty Godslayers and Dune Serpents. From time to time I'll help out a brother in need and edit a story, but mostly I enjoy writing my own pieces for the setting (although I have yet to branch out too much legion-wise for fear of stepping on other peoples' toes) and am considering penning a longer story or two after reading Horus Rising and False Gods - not gotten to the third one yet! I also paint the occasional model, an event that is spurred on by the Monthly Modelling Challenge, by far the best part of our subforum.
On a completely unrelated note, I am the orchestrator of the Monthly Modelling Challenge... Pretty self explanatory is that one!
When Simison launched the project as a throwaway idea, I was among those who showed immediate support (I believe, I might be making this up for personal glory). Before that, progress on my legions was sporadic at best. Since then, my productivity has greatly improved, even if it's slowed down lately (for perfectly good reasons).
Ever since starting the hobby and reading my first books I had been enthralled with the idea of starting my own army of heroes. After reading my first ever heresy book (Know No Fear) and then subsequently reading more in the series, I knew I wanted to explore the era more. Luckily last year my local group started a heresy campaign and of course I jumped on board. Now my Ultramarines are progressing nicely and I was looking for something more to do. After reading Athrawes, Simison's and Rkatra's amazing lost legion threads I figured why not give it a go. I'd only just created my own lost legion when Simison introduced the idea of the brotherhood, so naturally I jumped on board. At the time I was looking for some fun ways to expand my writing ability and expand on my legion, the Stygian Jackals. Now the project has grown into so much more and I'm really glad to be a part of it.
I mainly write for my legion, the Stygian Jackals, and their myriad allies, be it titan legios or auxilia regiments. I like to think that I also contribute to other peoples legion with ideas or just as a platform to bounce ideas off.
My name's Martin, but my nickname's been Hesh in real life for the last 20 or so years after I decided I liked the word watching skateboarding VCR's (I know, right?), and I prefer Hesh anyway. Then again, who doesn't?
As it developed, one thing that never seemed to gel was that the legions always seemed centered around the Primarchs, wandering around the galaxy in great big doom stacks (to use a Total War term) of overkill goodness, and never were there any small detachments. Combined with the fact that no legion pre-Heresy seemed to dislike their Primarch (except World Eaters, maybe), and that all Primarchs were ultra charismatic Mary Sue's almost, I wanted to define the legion around the melancholy, and lack of social ability of Morro, and his general moroseness; which I've only really noticed now shares an unintended similarity.
