Ihave 60 gb of data on my plan and I run out every month. I have tried to check my data usage on carrier mobile app to see where it is getting eaten up but my account does not show any record of any Data usage.... the only usage that shows is SMS for text messages and calls. I use mobile data most of the time so I am unsure where my Data is going?

To see where cellular data is being used, go to Settings> then scroll down slightly to the heading Cellular Date. It will list all of your applications after showing the Current Period of data usage. Understand, that is cumulative and may not necessarily show your current billing period. You have to reset that manually with a link to Reset Statistics at the bottom of the page. If you look just under that, you will see when the last time that statistics were reset, so the usage shown is since that date until the current date. Under each of the Apps listed it will display the amount of cellular data used by that app over that period of time.

What do you mean the problem is the application? Your carrier cannot provide you with detailed information on what applications use what data, just like you cannot see where your mail comes from or goes to. It is a data transfer and all they can log is the amount of data used. At least the phone can provide a listing of how much data a particular app uses. That gives you an idea of what applications to watch.

Then first time around, set the device up as a new device (do not restore it from the backup), just sign in and follow the set up prompts for setting up a brand new phone for the first time. See if the issue is resolved. If it isn't, then it sounds like the phone may be damaged.

If it is resolved, erase it again, and then restore it from the backup you made and see if the problem returns. If it doesn't, then you are all set. If it does, then you have a corrupted backup, and you will need to erase it again, and set it up as a new device (not from the backup).

I got an old iphone 4 and it s not possible to update ios to the latest version or the precious ones, fon t ask me why ,but that says itunes... Now,in the last times the phone is going crazy, doing thongs by itself like calling people, intereupting surfing, changing pages by its own and i cannot find an antivirus ,cause the phone has a way too old ios and should be updated..how can i find something to check,if it s really a virus,or simply the ios system is gone??

as the others said, it's best that you just ignore the message. there's no threat to you or your device. if you have difficulties removing the message from your device try going to Settings > Safari > Clear Website Data and History

My phone has NOT been jail broken. When I open my phone. apps open on their own, Ive watched my mail open itself and delete emails when I wasn't holding the phone. How can i fix this? is this a virus? or am i hacked? HELPPPPPP

I have a iPhone 5s which is about 4 years old now. Recently I have started to experience some battery issues . The issues includes problems like mass battery drain and overheating. So I wanted to check if I have exceeded the amount of batt cycles recommended. How can I do that?

For the most accurate test, schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and they can run diagnostics on your phone for you. Should it be determined a new battery is recommended the price to replace one on the 5s is $79.

I chatted with Apple about my iPhone issue just a moment ago, and asked about yours too. The tech said the folks at any Apple store can plug in any iPhone to a handheld device and do a battery check for free. Many independent Mac fix-it stores will do the same thing, and you can probably get the same help at Best Buy, and maybe even Office Depot, if there aren't any Apple stores close to you. If you don't have any of those big-box stores close to you either, try to make sure the indy fix-it shop is Apple certified. You might pay a little more, but in the end, it could be useful if things continue to go south with your iPhone.

As for my issue, I might be S.O.L. at this point. I was considering getting a new phone this year, but I wasn't expecting to have to do it now! ? I need to replace my 2011 laptop and I need a car now too. That old saying sure holds true for me... when it rains, it pours! Guess I'll have to sell some Apple stock to pay for new Apple tech. ?

The old school method of charging a battery does NOT apply to Lithium Ion batteries. You can charge them anytime you want as they do not have memory. There is no need to wait till they are at 40%. And it's actually very BAD for them to drain them completely. Batteries degrade over time and in an older phone, it is likely a new battery will be a good thing.

I haven't read about topping up a Lithium iON battery, so I'm certainly not qualified to comment on that. I can tell you since Apple first introduced Battery Health as a measure of performance, my batteries have shown 100% performance, even with frequent top offs. My iPhone X, now retired as I just got XS Max, after a year of top offs, was still showing 100%.

If you have a valid Apple Care Plus warranty on your phone, you can call 1-800-MY-APPLE and they'll run diagnostics over the air for you. If you don't have a valid plan, they may want to charge for this. Best to give them a call and ask.

But, I wouldn't do it this weekend. Yesterday was new Apple iPhone Launch Day. Apple Customer Support is overwhelmed with people having issues activating or transitioning from a previous phone. Let the onslaught of new phone issues die down a bit. For example, I need to cancel and get a refund for the unused portion of AppleCare+ for my iPhone X and purchase a new plan for my XS Max. I was on hold for two hours to get a live person on the phone.

I'm well aware of that letter. It does not say anything about topping off a lithium ion battery. It was specifically put out when people learned their older phones were being throttled to prevent shutdowns after iOS 11 was introduced. iOS 11 is the first iOS version to be totally 64 bit architecture. For older phone with less RAM, it was taxing them. This is why for iPhone 6 and higher, through the end of this year, Apple is replacing batteries for $29 (no questions asked about battery health) when the normal price is $79.

I am facing a similar situation, complete access to my phone, settings being changed, people being sent messages from my number, I can't really afford another device at the moment, but I was hoping there was some way to clean my device up, apparently only a phone number is needed, they have access to my camera and mic, and all my sensitive data, I have put my phone in lockdown mode, reset it several times, and nothing has changed, I have reached out and I have been asking questions, but I am just being called crazy, as I am not "important" enough for such a thing to happen, and how it would cost millions for such a thing to be maintained, but I am just caught in the crossfire, it's not just me. everything I am saying is just being disregarded, not sure what to do, hope I can get a new device in the near future

I tried everything. Erased multiple times created new acct. And then it seemed to work right for about one day. Then, I got a new cellular sim installed where I could access the accounts using different sim. Nothing changed any acct accessed from the device where passwords were entered were subject to being accessed and settings emails and other data would be changed or created. I then went to a library remember I have no other devices including a computer. So I created a new acct. Erased the device and reset it thought that would do. I had forgotten I was using the same email as recovery acct.

We had EXACTLY the same thing happen that you desribed here. It was an utter nightmare. It took hundreds and hundreds of hours, and thousands of dollars to get it fixed. Had to change every device, every account, and start over from scratch.
