Dear People
There will likely be a game somewhere this Sunday at 11 and as of now there are three slots left. Three!
Listen, I know how tremulous uncertainty makes you feel, but you’ll get through this. In any case, here’s the sitch: All Berkeley parks are remaining officially closed another week due to the continuing rains, and even though the fences might be down and Codornices would likely be playable, I don’t want to flout that closure just as it’s due to reopen, especially since there may be city park staff working on various issues. Patience.
That leaves Bushrod (preferred) and Golden Gate (honorable yet mushy), and given this dynamic, I’m already issuing an executive order in which cherished league legends Jim McGuire, Dan May and Steve Bedrick will arrive at Bushrod at 10:30 with the usual tools, and if they can seize at least one of the fields before anybody else gets there, they will. And if not, we’ll retreat to Golden Gate. Of course, this all assumes no serious rain that morning, but frankly, every fiber of my being says Sunday’s supposed showers are all steer and no fiber. Whatever.
The bottom line: You’ll need to check email around 10:39:07 that morning, but always remember, we’re a hale and hydrophilic folk, and your aerobic release is my only priority.
