Dear People,
Climatic predictions among the websites of Big Weather have shifted considerably in the last 12 hours, and so while as if this morning it looked like there would be serious rain from late tonight through all of tomorrow, as of now it’s been scaled back to mostly intermittent drizzle, with significant rain not arriving until the afternoon. In other words, the future is still unwritten (unless you’re a Calvinist or hard determinist), and so with apologies, I’m not going to call the game one way or the other until the morning. Now look, I know that uncertaintly makes you feel frightened and dirty, but my default is always to hold off cancelling any game until I can be sure that sunny and playable conditions in retrospect don’t send me into a guilt-ridden stupor from which it takes me three years to emerge.
SO, check your email tomorrow morning, and if it’s obvious bad news, you should know by 9ish, but if conditions are still ambiguous and/or a quick excursion to Bushrod is required, it could be closer to 9:45. The main thing is to stay calm.
Finally: We were full this morning, but I got two flu-related cancels today, one of which may be the Norovirus (As one who hasn’t thrown up since the Spring of ’68 in the Norwegian Alps, I strongly recommend against contracting it!) In any case, two slots now left, so if you’re on the fence, give me some churn-proof wiggle room and tell me you’ll be there if we play! . . . Raymond
