Job Description – SAP GTS Consultant

Duration: Long term contract

Location- Chicago, IL –onsite

Role Summary:
Design, implement, and support SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) solutions to ensure compliant, efficient cross-border trade operations. Enable customs management, export controls, and trade compliance aligned with global regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and configure SAP GTS modules (Compliance Management, Customs Management, Risk Management).

• Support embargo checks, sanctioned party list (SPL) screening, export control, and license management.
• Design and optimize customs processes (import/export declarations, duty management, FTZ).
• Integrate SAP GTS with SAP ECC/S/4HANA and external customs/trade systems.
• Conduct Fit-Gap analysis, prepare functional specs, and support developments/testing (SIT/UAT).
• Ensure compliance with global trade regulations and audit requirements.
• Support data migration, master data governance (BP, material classification), and cutover activities.
• Provide production support and continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications:

·                5–10 years of SAP GTS experience with at least 1–2 full lifecycle implementations.

• Strong knowledge of global trade compliance, export controls, customs processes.
• Hands-on configuration experience in GTS modules and integration with SAP ERP/S/4HANA.
• Experience with partner government systems and EDI interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred:

·            Experience in regulated industries (Pharma/MedTech).

·            Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA for International Trade.

·            Knowledge of regional regulations (US ITAR/EAR, EU dual-use, etc.).
