Dear users of RAxML,

We have been providing user support via this group for almost 10 years
now. I now do have a favor to ask you.

We are currently working on implementing the following project on the
RAxML web-servers:

Project Outline:

A part of the data generated/computed by submitting this RAxML-NG job
that is included in the following three RAxML-NG output files

PREFIX.raxml.log
PREFIX.raxml.bestModel
PREFIX.raxml.bestTree

where PREFIX is the run name of the job, will be permanently stored and
post-processed with the sole purpose of setting up a publicly available
github repository (not comprising the aforementioned original data
files). This github repository will offer empirical model parameter
distributions/histograms (e.g., GTR rates, alpha shape value, base
frequencies, type of model used), alignment characteristics (proportion
of gaps and missing data), and tree shapes (empirical tree topologies
with branch lengths but ANONYMIZED taxon names) extracted from the
collected data to better inform the design of future realistic
simulation studies in phylogenetics.

So our question to you is if this would be acceptable for you as this
should improve future phylogenetic inferences or if you would like to
have the possibility to opt out of this data sharing.

Please go to the following simple poll (takes 10 seconds to complete)
and let us know your preference:

Thank you very much,

Alexis

Dear Users,

I think it is not too much too ask for to read the below email in half a
minute and spend 10 seconds to complete the survey after the thousands
of questions we have answered in this group for almost a decade.
